One year later, here is a much requested part two of my most watched video "what i eat in a week at my Nonna Rosa's house" in Calabria, Italy 🥰 I hope you enjoy!

[about me]
Hi my name is Rosie, I'm 26 and my life is a bit confusing so i'm writing this lol.
To make it easy:
- I was born in Northern Italy, in the region of Veneto
- My whole family still lives there (mom, dad and my little sister Marty)
- I moved to Toronto, Canada, at 19 all alone to ✨find myself✨ (spoiler: it didn't work, i got more lost if anything).
So, I live half my life in Italy and half my life in Canada.
Also, my mom is from Moldova (country in Eastern Europe) and my dad is from Calabria (region in Southern Italy) and both my grandmas still live there. So you’ll occasionally see me going there as well.
I hope this clears things up a bit.. or maybe makes them more confusing lol.
I don’t know, i tried 😄

So glad you're enjoying the video 🥰
To anyone asking about the restaurant in Sicily, it's called "Ristorante Il Padrino" and it's in the town of Forza d'Agrò;
Also I really wanted to make a recipe book with nonna this year but we didn't have enough time.. two weeks went by so fast and because nonna cooks without measuring anything, we would have had to remake all the recipes and measure all the ingredients/cooking times. Hopefully next year 🤞🏻I tried to include all the steps of each recipe so hopefully you'll still be able to recreate them 😊💕

I love how realistic your family is. I feel so related because nothing is extravagant or staged just in the sake of making a vlog. It's like your family life is 'reachable' for most of us.

Unbelievable that there are places in the world like this that treat everyday like this. Food is a celebration. Everything is fresh from the market. Time is less important and eating nourishing and full meals throughout the day is normal. And coming together to sit around the table each and every time…unbelievably important. 3rd time watching this because it just gives me so much inspiration as an American who is dying to travel to Italy someday and who also hopes to be able to give my future children more of this type of experience surrounding food, family and connection.

It’s nice to see that some parts of the world haven’t forgotten how to live life and it’s not all about money

Your grandmother is a hard worker. I know it is usual for her, her culture, her generation, etc. but I hope u guys acknowledge her hard work and cooking. She's a beast in the kitchen!

As a Mexican American, this reminds me of my my family almost every weekend. We all meet up at our dad’s house. Our kids swim and we eat good. I’m very grateful.

It’s incredibly how Italian traditions are so similar than spanish ones. Your video has been like watching one summer week when my grandma lived. I appreciate so much your content. Thank you for sharing this special moments❤

As an Italian born and living in the South of Italy (Puglia), I can tell how much truth there's in this video. This is really how summer is like here, expecially when relatives from the North or from abroad come to stay for vacation.
I also appreciate that you didn't make it a judgemental or stereotypical video, like most YouTubers do.
Totally loved it!

I'm not Italian at all but this video somehow brought back childhood memories of growing up in China, the fruit after every meal, buying ingredients from guys in trucks, meals with simple ingredients, and eating with a big family with everyone chatting and laughing...it's funny how similar we all are despite being geographically so far apart!

I’m from Taiwan and accidentally came across your video. I can’t tell you enough how much I love this!!!! It really brings me back to when my grandmama was still alive and when we would visit, she’d always hosted us with a table full of delicious dishes that bring the whole fam together… in Chinese there’s a saying ‘有種餓叫阿嬤覺得你餓’. It basically describes that food is grandmas’ love language and they love feeding you with food. I think your video is a perfect example of that 🤌🏼✨

The togetherness, visits to markets and love for cooking deliciousness makes me think of life here in the Caribbean. So wholesome!

I find it so fascinating that your nonna doesn’t use a chopping board to cut, just her pairing knife and hands. That’s how you can tell she has been cooking for her entire lifetime !

I have family in Italy, and this video perfectly captures vacationing with Italians. It's constant eating, chilling out, napping, espresso, shopping (for food), more eating, some kind of celebration of a local saint/town festival, beach fun, and family time. You even got visiting the family graves in there. Filled out the Italian family vacation bingo card.

i literally live in Greece and throughout the whole video i was like OH THEY HAVE THAT TOO or THEY DO THAT LIKE WE DO and then i realized when it comes to Mediterranean, most things are the same lol. Living in Athens, where you can't enjoy a village-like summer unless you have a way/reason to go to a village (or vacation), watching this video surely gave me warm summer vibes as if i'm missing a place I've never lived in.

just had a little breakdown because my whole family is from Calabria, my parents were born there too: both families moved to the north when they were very little and started a new life here. They eventually met in their twenties and found out they both came from two different little towns in Cosenza. Thankfully I managed to grow up surrounded by calabrese culture, food, dialect and traditions.

Your nonna seems so precious and everything she does and says reminds me so much of my nonna… unfortunately I lost her a month ago after five years of dementia. She was my best friend and my favorite person to ever exist, she sacrificed everything for her children and grandchildren (i’m the youngest of 8 girls, she used to call us her “8 stars”) and she taught me what being rich actually means.

Grazie per questo vlog tenerissimo mi ha fatta sentire a casa. ❤

My neighbors across the street were a family who had an Italian bakery. I remember once locking myself out or my apartment without shoes or coat and I ran across to use their phone. When I went into the bakery kitchen, the dad, who was an elderly man at the time, was sitting at the table cutting up a slice of watermelon. Without a word, he pointed to a chair for me to sit and handed me a piece of cut up watermelon. I remember that gesture of fatherly hospitality with deep affection.
