[SFM] SCP: Ordinary World

Показать описание
A team of MTFs, a D-Class, and a scientist are tasked with moving an SCP in a site. Of course, things do not go as planned and the SCP Foundation is attacked. The MTFs must fight on, or face death. Just an ordinary day in this ordinary world (roll credits).

Enough with the melodramatics. I wanted to animate some shootouts in dark environments, and this SFM seemed like a good choice. The corridors of an SCP site (or at least, how I imagine SCP sites to be) can be both dark and industrial, as well as bright and clean, making them good places for a shootout.

Influenced by SCP-2639, which is basically 3 teenagers who are trapped in a computer to play Quake forever. And also they spawn into our real world and cause destruction. That last element is what I focused on; the creature that spawned in at the end is the SCP itself, manifesting to save the MTFs. And then killing the final MTF.

In many ways, the song "Ordinary World" preceded the video itself. Someone talked to me a while ago about making a video on anomalies with the song "Ordinary World". My mind eventually wandered to other SCP song type animations, like Site-65 Remastered. And this entire animation sprung up around the song. It's my hope that Ordinary World is a better SCP animation than most SCP songs because those animations, while made by passionate people, could use a face-up.

And as usual, this is far from SCP canon. It's just a dumb SFM animation adapted from no particular SCP (wow); don't get your panties in a bunch. The song fits, hopefully. Ordinary World is a good song. The Evil Dead 2 one, not the Green Day one (I like that one too, but that's not relevant) which will get me demonetized.

Normally, this is where I would explain the SCP that this video is based on, but since it's based on multiple SCPs (one of which being SCP-2639, the best article on the site and you should go read it), I will not. Includes SCP-2639, SCP-173, and SCP-035 as the main ones spotted, though the observant among you should spot other SCPs involved.

This is as good as I can make shootouts.

Trivia:

- Ordinary World's first shots were made in a hostel bed in Ottawa.

- Ordinary World took 8 months, the longest stretch of time I have spent on a video. This also took 421 hours, which is also quite long considering this video is under 4 minutes. Normally I spend 60 hours per minute. This one clocks at 105 hours/minute.

- SCP-2639 is my favorite SCP, but I never got around animating something of this nature. Likely due to me not having any idea how to do a script that isn't just the SCP article itself.

- There are many subtle references to my other TF2 and SCP videos. See if you can find any. And as usual, no hints.

- Fluff, the girl who cut the song into around 3 minutes, is from Indonesia, which has just banned Paypal. So now I might finance her with trinkets and baubles, paid for in blood.

- My favorite SCPs are still 2639, 3780, 4856, 093, 1861, and 3021.

- The MTFs cannot blink. All models had serious issues with faceposing, which proved a challenge since a lot of my shots and signature moves rely on emoting.

- See you in September with a TF2 SFM.

There is a easter egg involving a secret voice recording in English, that you can only hear at 0.25 speed. 15 TF2 keys to anyone who finds it first. DM me on Dummie#1490 on Discord to collect your prize.

Song is Ordinary World from The Evil Dead 2 trailer. Any other questions, let me know. I'll get back to you if I can.

A D class helping guards rather than run is something i did not expected

One of the few animations that doesn't make Foundation agents look impotent. And Class-D helping with Run was unexpected and amazing! excellent job.

The art style here seems like an interesting mix between TF2 and more "Traditional" Source engine assets.

I like that instead of Epsilon-11 or another badass MTF, the SCP folks decide to get the help of one of the Quake players in one of the SCP articles! I keep forgetting which number it was, but it's pretty cool!

The class-D is like he got arrested without a sin, instead he helped the guards defend themselves.

Canon or not, that was pretty and it worked with the music excellently. Nice job.

The fact the D class decided to help and not shoot shoot them is something I wasn’t expecting but 100% welcome

That and it’s just a bloody great animation

Pretty well done, all things considered. I recognized instantly what the anomaly was based off, glad to see recognition being given to SCP-2639! One of the lesser known SCPs, but actually kind of sad.

Didn't expect Monarch Solutions from Quantum Break to raid a Foundation site.

This is amazing! I really love everything about it! From the SFM animation to the entire concept!

Also this rendition of “Ordinary World” from “The Evil Within 2” is my favorite! So thanks for that! ^^
