I feel this sense of serenity while Watching this, seeing the weary SCP operative sit next to his comrade and just rest.

“Another victim, ” the operative observed.

The corpse in front of him drifted upwards in defiance of gravity, back arched as if plucked from the ground by an invisible hand. Many such unfortunate souls were scattered among the forest canopy, suspended by the same unseen force.

Turning his eyes to the compass in his left hand, he started again in the direction of the needle. It did not point North.

The silence was deafening. Yet more bodies passed him by, marionettes diplayed for an absent audience. Then he came to one more familiar, a fellow agent. Emblazoned on their uniforms, the Foundation’s stylized vault door. The operative glanced to his rifle, a grim feeling of amusement settling over him.

“Given the best gear and the best training, but what prepares you for this?” he pondered silently.

On a nearby stump sat another operative, his back to the first. With his poture hunched and his eyes hollowed by eldritch darkness, the slight movement of his breathing was the only thing separating him from the limp figures that hung beside him.

The first operative looked to his compass. The needle spun in futility. He slumped heavily next to the second, a sense of resignation overcoming him.

“I can see what’s waiting for us, ” the second spoke up. “It’s not pretty.”

“I figured, ” the first replied. “We knew what we signed up for.”

“Doesn’t make it any better though, ” came the retort.

“No, ” the first conceded, “It doesn’t”

For those that do not know the SCP genre and do not know why the MTF is so calm is because all of the MTF knows that their mission is a life or death situation no matter what but they will do anything to save the world

The ending scene hits hard as the 2 operatives just sit together in silence....lively waiting until the ntity gets them too.

This got me to think just how MTF must be the bravest sons of a gun in SCP Universe. Think about it.

They chose this path voluntarily.
They they put their sanity on the line everyday, possibly going back from their next mission dead... or much worse.
They go in with little info, always not expecting what's to come.
Often die in horror and pure terror.

And that's not even half of it.

Where GOC goes in with clear mission of destruction, they have to preserve the unnatural.

Where Serpent's Hand establishes communication with anomalies, they rarely have a chance to talk.

Where Chaos Insurgency comes in with SCP intel, they have none.

Who's braver?

Based on the equipment, I think the operator with NODs was from a different squad, one which he likely got separated from, or otherwise is the lone survivor of, and he was trying to find some kind of exit with a tactic covered in briefing or basic training.

Upon arriving at the certain location, a separate squad whoch had already arrived is seen to have tried the same tactic, but ended up dying instead. The survivor of that squad sitting down implies that whatever killed his squad was not immediate, but he's expecting it anyway.

Defeated, it appears that he found no alternative escape, or had given up trying. Our first operator is obliged to do the same, awaiting the imminent death that both are sure will take them.

The floating bodies and MTF personnel are reminiscent of SCP: Overlord but the sheer number of bodies also reminds me of the Hiss-corrupted in Control. Both Control and SCP: Overlord are good and I recommend watching them if you haven't already.
Needless to say, this is an incredible animation and I hope you will be able to create more.

This appeals to something normally overlooked isn’t he scp foundation: their is still humanity. That mtf agent knew he was gonna die. Everybody else had died, except for one teammate which seems to have been changed into something else. He knows theirs no good but he stays, knowing that since he’s giving up something somebody else will have a chance to live.

Fear is knowing what might happen...Dread is to know that nothing can be done for you.

You look to the compass in your palm, it's as lost as you are.

Peering up from the marooned device you see the weightless husks the were formerly your squadmates suspended in the air above. Dozens...all stripped of what they were, and you figure you're not special, and you'll be joining them soon enough. Averting your gaze from the harrowing sight, before you sits a broken soldier on a tree stump, not dissimlar to yourself. You check your compass one final time...to be met with an even more uncertain answer. You take is as a sign that you've strayed to far from salvation. Without a word exchanged between you two, you rest your rifle on the mockingly lush foliage beneath you, and sit silently next to the man. You see him that way now, soldiers no longer, just men, awaiting the same fate. The company comforts your souls...but the dread returns as the man begins to scream in terror, snapping your head around, you look in pure fear as you witness him ascend into the skies above. As he rises, the panic subsides, as a look of impure serenity washes over his face, and his body goes limp, allowing his head to tilt back toward the bleak sky above. You watch him as the peaceful expression fades, and his eyes roll back into his skull.

"Last one stading, huh?!" You call out the the forest in vain.

"Never thought it'd be me..."

You begin to laugh to yourself, but it quickly devolves into a hysteric mess of tears, no need to be brave anymore, you've done it. Crying felt as if it took a weight off your chest, your gear doesn't feel as heavy anymore. In fact, you feel devoid of weight entirely. You smile, the tears streaming down the side of your face, as you allow your head to fall back and gaze into the clouds as you fade away.

Ahem, apologies for that spontaneous short story there. This was written in about 15-20 minutes so feel free to call out any mistakes if you catch any!

If you read that entire thing, I thank you, genuinely.

That's all I have to say, have a good day/night/evening Boys, GIrls, and all y'all that fall in-between!

Cya,
Spingiss (:

"So...guess we didn't make it, huh?"

"Guess we didn't..."

"Wonder what we did that closed the gate for us"

This shows us just how tired these MTF operators are after having to deal with these anomalies and having to bury so many of there brothers. May these souls rest peacefully and quietly

The MTF agent stares at the poor souls floating in the sky like strung up criminals, all he can think is what foul creature or entity would do such a thing to these innocents.

Then has he progressed he saw as his own comrades were lifted up, their masks covering their faces and their limbs gone limbed. The agent stares at all the people in the air, their eyes screaming out "help me, help me", but if he progressed he'd be rendered to this torment. He sits with his commander and thinks.

"Why us? Why are we sent to do this?" he asks

"Because, " the Commander responded his tired face looking at the ground. "We're expendable".

"Everyone's floating, " observed Miller.

"Yeah, " Rodrigues agreed, still looking despondently at the ground.

"Even Ted and Morgan are floating."

His partner grunted assent.

"I want to float too. How do they do it?"

"Beats me. I tried jumping and sprained my ankle. Been sitting here ever since."

"Before he took off, Sarge said you just have to walk. But like, up." Miller glanced at his compass, which appeared to be having a stroke. "But now this thing won't even tell me which way is up!"

His partner sighed. "Compasses don't show which way is up."

"That''s what I'm saying! This anomaly is making mine go crazy."

"Compasses could never show which way is up. Anomaly or not."

"Oh."

"Yeah..."

After a brief pause, Miller pocketed the instrument and sat down next to his fellow gravity-challenged operative.

"Well now I feel stupid."

"Yeah..."

You come up with some absolutely stunning artwork and concepts, would be amazing to see a voice actor and complete story put behind your work if you ever did want to go in that direction
Also you got that overlord vibe down pat, I’m floored

I love this. As an Operative of the Foundation I have seen many of my brothers fall. This is the sad Reality of MTF.

this animation is oddly melancholic. Like it makes you feel this weird sense of calm, kind of like nostalgia but like not.
