NEW VW ID7 vs My TESLA Model S! Range, Power, Practicality Comparison

Показать описание
The 2024 Volkswagen ID.7 is billed as a new premium electric car to rival the Tesla Model 3 and BMW i4. Except it isn't, because it's bigger than both of them - and more closely aligned with the Tesla Model S. So, can it go beyond what's expected and beat Tesla's larger five-door at its own game? Sam Sheehan finds out, before deciding whether to make the switch...
The ID.7 we're using is a press car supplied by Volkswagen at its UK launch event in Milton Keynes. The Tesla we're using has been Sam's cinch company car for two years. The new ID.7 costs from £51,550, while a used Model S can be had from £21,900 on cinch (at the time of writing).
The ID.7 uses a 77kWh (usable) battery, and has a claimed 384-mile range. Sam's Model S uses a 72.6kWh (usable) battery, and has a real-world range of 250 miles. Both cars in this test are single-motor, rear-wheel drive models, with five doors and five seats.
