In this test, it looks like you haven't spent much time with Tetris in the past 🙃

I thought the Tourer has a device to make the rear seats more upright to get the 605 lites? I would have the tourer for the better looks, and rear wiper. And the more practical load cover in the tourer too

This test is not fair. He just doesn’t want to admit that the tourer is better than his own saloon….

Nice you've got su much pleasure! 😀 And nice measurements as well 👍 Liters will not tell the whole story, but also how practical the space is. That's exactly what you've let us seen here

Sorry but your packing skills are lacking. You need to take out the cover in the tourer and try again, you surely fit in two more boxes, you just didn't have enough 😋

Love the video. Thanks for putting this together, mate. 🙏

When you lower the variable floor to the "down position", you can still fit the charging cable in the 'hole' below the floor - next to the subwoofer.
So you can get in even more boxes 😅

I think 'tourer' is a trim rather than a body style on this model :)). Now I have no more regrets that I ordered the sedan

That was a fairly poor utilization of the volume 😅 15 boxes = 342 liters, I.e. 65% of the sedan and 57% of the tourer was used. But anyways a good and illustrative example of the importance of having a few soft bags if you wanna squeeze in as much as possible 😝

Thank you for all the content and videos. Watched much of it before getting my ID 7 tourer. Any videos or links anyone can share explaining how to use boot nets?

Theoretically, given the measurements of a box you have 22.8 l / box, which means that those 15 boxes got 342 l together, of non VDA blocks, but not far from the actual system in which VDA takes their measurements.
Now, I know that there was a lot of space left unused and that the boxes could've been arranged better, but the extra 73 litres can be seen quite easily.
It's important to mention that the 605 litres are measured with all the underfloor storage taken out.

Lol the estate and the hatchback have the same shape. Modern car design 😂

Hi, interesting comparison. Did you have the the rear seats in cargo mode? A lot of websites states the trunk size with the seats in cargo mode but I think that doesn’t make sense because no one would actually sit on the seats so upright. Or what do you think ? Be Kim

Why am I making an informed decision on cars I can't afford?

One thing what you've forget, the backseat is adjustable with the hook, I'm pretty sure you'll get 5 boxes more in the trunk.

Do not enjoy you miscalculation, do it properly.

Hi again. I also got an ID.7 but does anyone know how to replace the terrible cubic network and use an internet provider of my own choice? Can I use another sim or eSIM card. Cubic telecoms prices are ridiculous and default speed is like a 28.8 baud modem in 1993. Or am I missing something here? If anybody knows ? Br kim

Thank you, that's exactly what I suspected. And even if it wasn't so, most of us need trunk length and width, but rarely the height. I chose a fastback to a) avoid a muddy rear window on Scandinavian winter roads, and b) improve efficiency. I’ve never had any use for the top rear nook in estate cars, so I’m all for sedans that do away with it!

Well I guess you convinced yourself that you didn't make a mistake not buying the wagon. Based on the dimensions of your boxes, you fitted 342L of box volume in each, so I suspect you could have more carefully packed the wagon. Wagons are a very unloved body style here in Australia now (VW have discontinued the Golf Wagon and Passat here), but there's no doubt from personal experience my Golf Wagon has loads more space up back than most SUVs.

Not worth to sacrifice the efficiency for that little extra space.

Both vehicles differ only minimally at the rear. The contour of the "Tourer" is partly achieved with the attached rear frame, so the rear window itself is not much steeper than in the sedan. But the window is set back by another 5 cm. However, the trunk lid frame on the Tourer is much wider/deeper, which is rather annoying, especially with such boxes.
You can see very clearly how similar the rear of the body itself is with open tailgates.
