HELLO FRIENDS!! So, I found something... a few months ago, while we were trying to film a video where I let TikTok ads pick my outfits, I stumbled upon... this dress. It goes by a few names but it's most commonly some version of the "floral midriff shaper corset sundress" - and after buying one for the video, my for you page started getting flooded with TONS of ads for what looked like the same dress - but all from different companies, and with wildly different price points. So, I decided - let's buy a few of these bad boys and see what actually ends up at our doorstep - and find out, what the heck IS up. Where are all these dresses coming from? Are they all the same dress? Clearly someone is lying here - but who? I guess we'll find out...

This has become a a HUGE problem. I don’t make clothing, but I am an amateur silversmith. Even at my level, I’ve had photos of my jewelry stolen and used on some sketchy sites. I work very hard on my pieces and spend hours on photography alone. It makes me extremely angry knowing my hard work is being used to scam people out of their hard earned money, and it makes people less inclined to purchase genuine artisan items.

Instagram & TikTok need to be held accountable for people being scammed.

We, the collective, appreciate you spending over 400 USD and 6 months buying and investigating dresses that are the farthest thing from your own aesthetic

I am LIVING for how totally unhinged Saf went when she sniffed a scam. This is a masterpiece. This is a Netflix doc. This is DETECTIVE LEVEL SH*T

I don't know a lot about US business law, but this sounds like you gathered a lot a evidence to get a lot of companies in trouble for stealing people's likenesses. Good work Saf!

Not only the corset, I notices the House of CB dresses are layered and have visible lace endings and unseen tule adding volume.

The biggest problem is that real-deal small designer shops that create their original products probably suffer because all the copycat fake ads overshadow them.

She needs a netflix show for this, the amount of time and effort put into these videos and researching things is unbelivable

Safiya should get into more investigative journalism like this. She’s a great presenter, and there’s so much material to work with in the fashion/beauty world.

I love how she's actually doing and showing us all the investigation process behind, and not only buying and compering the dresses. that's actually the best way to do a reveiw in my opinion

I was BOMBARDED with these ads after I found interest in the dress and simply clicked on one of the scams websites. I AM SO HAPPY I DIDN"T BUY IT. It screamed fash fashion all over, it just boils my blood cause not everyone thinks it through before buying. Glad you promoted/exposed the real dress so that those who can afford it can get the quality dress they deserve.

All the people complaining about the video being too long and Safiya talking too much have clearly never watched her content before (or watched enough of it.) THIS IS WHO SHE IS. She does all the hard work and doesn't skip over ANYTHING. She is crazy and wild and smart and goes ALL IN and does whatever she wants, and that's why we love her. Quit complaining about her making the content she is known for making. If you don't like it, skip over the beginning and/or leave. We love our Safiya and all her hard work. If you want quick and without evidence or discovery, go back to TikTok or shorts.

There needs to be more punishment for online fraud. A lot of these just want your card information to further steal from you and they never get in trouble for it

i don’t think we’re talking enough about safiya’s deep dive and research she did for this video like it’s so impressive how wonderfully she did with proper information and facts. you can tell that she has an incredible mind and is so smart.

I was OBSESSED with this dress last summer and admittedly bought some crappy dupes. Now that I know where the original came from, I'll go there. Appreciate all the work, time, and money that you spent on making this video!
