Para 3 is my togo knife at the moment. But PM2 still to me is my best knife. The handle. The fit. Everything about PM2 is just so perfect for me. Sometimes i feel just a little too big to carry with me thats why i have para3. But i love PM2 more..even compared to all my benchmade knifes.

I have been trying to convince myself to buy one but I just can't get past....
1) Handle to blade ratio is wonky
2) I don't like having 9 empty pocket clip holes in my handle scales.
3) I want less ricasso and more edge.
4) No sharpening choil..WTF?

It's a cool knife. What troubles me is that the nested steel liners are susceptible to rust, but the knife was not designed for disassembly. How is one to care for them? I was enthusiastic about mine when I got it, but now it lives in a drawer.

Excellent review and video as always. Have 2 of the PM 2's myself, and one of them is a sprint run, green scales with S45VN steel. Love both knives. But just by chance about a week ago, while looking at Newgrahamknives site, they had a Cutleryshoppe exclusive Shaman with CTS-XHP steel which I bought immediately and love it also. Can't beat the REC Shaman you have though, now that's a beautiful knife. Have a good one brother!

Totally agree. I've got two. An S110V and a digi-camo, black dlc S30V. I also have an S110V Para 3 coming as I'm typing this (really excited now) and a standard Para 3. I also have 2 Military knives. An S110V version and the standard S30V with black G10 handle scales. They say the Taichung Taiwan Spydercos are the best. My favorites are the Golden Colorado knives. I also have a Manix 2 XL and a couple of Manix 2 lightweights. A BD1N version and a SPY27 version.

As a lefty, the Spyderco compression lock sucks to use. They make a left handed version, but in limited runs apparently. I scoured the web for a Lefty for months until I finally found one new on eBay a few weeks ago! I overpaid for it, but hey, it's kind of a rarity. I have to say that the hype of the Para2 is real! Egos are perfect, the blade and steel are very good, it's fun to fidget with, to deploy and to use. I really hope they churn out more lefty versions of their popular compression lock knives!

Nice video. Great knife, especially for EDC. So, I initially bought the Byrd model because when seeing that hole in the blade it kinda looks odd so I didn't mind it and bought their Cara Cara 2 model, a subsidiary of Spyderco, but cheaply made in China & in 8Cr13MoV and affordable (32.50+tax) (they recently raised the price on the Cara
Cara 2 too!) So anyway I really like that Byrd knife and I went on soon to buy a Para 3 2021 generation which, now
includes an upgraded steel (S45VN) on certain models like the favorite uncle, Mister Paramilitary 2!
