Not quite. BMW counts their hybrids as EV's. For pure EV's Tesla is much higher.

Are BMW batteries more serviceable than Tesla? Cheaper repair options by swapping cells over the whole battery could be an advantage. I’m considering an i4 M40.

I think many people are waiting for the new model y . On the other hand Bmw has pretty good reputation of very reliable EV. Tesla's supercharger network except big markets is pretty shitty too little and most of the time V2 version which is by today's standards outdated and servis network is really disaster very few of them so you wait like months to get your car fixed.

It's logical… While BMW is somewhat shady company, they still the only ones in EU, who proved, that they can build good BEV (i3 is still incredibly popular) and also they are entrenched with clients, that have ton of money and start transitioning to EV - so they go for PHEV or directly BEV from company they have long term experience…
