Imagine showing up to work 40 hours a week considered an extreme concept

Work for Elon Musk in his offices or go elsewhere. Simple enough.

A business who wants it's employees to come into to work. What a tyrant! LOL!!

On their deathbed: "I should of spent more time at the office", said NO ONE.

For making cars I get it, but the old people rattling their briefcases about working in an office for admin and software jobs are behind the times. They just don't want to admit their multi million dollar buildings are no longer impressive and useful.

40 hours is only a four day work week for me and I can guarantee you I’m working harder than your average Tesla employee

40 hours plus overtime is common in many countries. Was the norm before Covid remember?🙄

Can’t “solve traffic” without people being in their cars headed to work. Can’t “solve car pollution” if people aren’t polluting as much. Other companies will follow his suit, and it not only helps his cause but the oil companies who despite record low prices they buy the barrels at continue to raise prices because people have to use it to run their car so they can go to work. Can’t get cobalt to make these “problem solving” items without pillaging the Congo in Africa, enslaving children, and for what to solve issues that could’ve been solved with creativity, knowledge, and without the exploitation of others.

The Linux kernel which powers the Falcon 9 and most likely it also powers some crucial piece of code in Tesla cars, and probably all starlink satellites, WAS and is still being built from people's respective HOMES. PostgreSQL? Git? Oh and did Steve Wozniak build Apple 1 in an office or in the garage back at his home? Not all products are shipped by great companies from inside their expensive buildings. Especially software ones. Maybe manufacturing requires people's presence at the site of production as big machines are not portable, but code is literally being manufactured inside their heads and manifesting through their laptops which are very much portable.

I was there. I loved it. " if you don't recognize your coworkers you shouldn't work here." He literally brought every employee back in one day. He's amazing!

Absolutely, the greatest way to not only expose the slackers in your company, but to get rid of them very effectively & efficiently.

Manufacturing goods will always require a factory.

Manipulating data won't. (HR, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Logistics, IT, Legal, Corporate, etc.) There is no reason whatsoever for these people to be in an office, nor do you need to be leasing space for these departments.
