Humpback Whale (Mom) Breach - shot from underwater

Mom Humpback had been resting normally while we floated. Then suddenly, both sides of her brain awoke, her eyes opened wide, and she took off. The calf then realized if she didn't do the same, she'd be left behind. So she zoomed by too - then Mom head lunged, then breached!!!!! So exciting to be THAT close and to see a breach in the making, as well as be in the water that close to one as it happens!

I am always deeply touched by the animals' willingness to have us in their world, especially around their newborns.
