"if you're concerned with being a good dm, you're probably a good dm." is so real. Lol
Very much like something my therapiust said once, "Assholes aren't often concerned about whether or not they're being an asshole."

Hi,

I just got randomly recommended this channel and I am shocked by the low views, given the great content and high production value.

Just wanted to say some nice words of encouragement. Keep doing this good work and I am sure the all mighty algorithm will soon grant you the thousands or millions of views this channel deserve.

Thank you!

Validating!
It's so uplifting as a DM when the day after a session my players flood the group chat with energy and questions and plans.

The reverse of your one point is also true, and telling. If you're not interested in improving, you're almost certainly *not* a good DM, and with that attitude, you never will be. But I wouldn't think they'd be a DM to begin with, tho you never know. Good video, Some Girl on the Internet.

I've often elicited feedback from my players, but I really love and appreciate the reminder to ask about specific things I felt I could improve on. I often leave an open-ended "Let me know if you had any questions/concerns/comments, " but that can be overwhelming to respond to. Asking about specific points is more helpful for both parties!

Good video
If you and your table are having fun playing your game then it’s a success in my book.
I always try to get feedback after a session to make it better each game session.

Had more doubt lately, after a campaign derailed. But let's remember another thing: Everyone has his style, his preferred genre, System, etc. And that won't work with everybody. It's sad when you don't vibe with a certain group you hoped too, but keep going and find others who will synergize better with you!

I've been a DM for over 20 years, I have never doubted my abilities to make a game entertaining.

"Good". "DM". Different things to different people. No real foundation of meaning.

Is fun good? Why not just play videogames? Just watch a movie, play a game of cards. Is it a game? A story? An exercise in realism?

What is roleplaying? Why do it?

I appreciate your channel, but it could actually be that the conversation you're having is more about YouTube than about a hobby. And of course, to begin that trainride of thought is to invite a response along the lines of "I appreciate your comment but it could be the conversation you're trying to have isn't actually about having fun" 😁

Gambit deployed. Hopefully thoughts engaged.

You’re a good DM if…

You don’t take over generalized YouTube “advice” and just run the game how you want the best you can.
