A lot of people look at me and my boyfriend (Terry) and say #relationshipgoals, but we have #relationshipproblems too! All great relationships require some work, so I filmed this to share my take on it.This video premiered at the Buffer Festival 2015 in Toronto.

Exactly what I needed to hear.

My boyfriend always called me out on me how I'm so disrespectful and rude towards him but I took it as an offense and we would always ended up arguing. I talked to my mom about it and expecting her to agree with me.. but she didn't. She agreed with what my boyfriend said and it's good that he called me out on my behavior. I'm 19 years old and hoping to work with UNICEF in the future. So he asked me how I'm going to live up to my dream if I can't even respect people. So I started to change (not for him, but for myself) and we barely fight anymore. I realized that I'm such a brat and I'm so lucky to have someone to deal with me. He treats me like a princess, so I gotta treat him like a princess too. :)

but seriously Kassie should be a therapist. love the example of cleaning your room. I never thought of it that way. I should start cleaning. you should do a video "how to survive school emotionaly"

I can relate with you so much on being selfish and having to repress that side of me. I find myself saying "I'm hungry" or "I'm tired" and expect to be given whatever I needed right away because it's all about My boyfriend was free with generosity towards me in the beginning and catered to my demands but over time, he got fed up and started calling me out on my bullshit and started resisting me saying I need to do my part. At first I was like "um wth? i'm a princess????" but over time and after many many trying and heartbreaking moments together, we're so much better for each other and of course better people in general. And I can't thank him enough for showing me the light because no one has really called me out on my selfishness and self-centeredness, and if they have, never cared to really get it in my head that I need to be a better person. but he stuck it out with me :) I also stuck it out with his stubborn butt lol

Yes! Awesome video with a great message. My husband and I recently agreed that "Wednesday nights we will make and eat dinner together" because it creates a time for us to share and work on something together. It's so easy to get stuck in our own ways even when sharing a life and space with another human being that we care about. Thanks Kassie for sharing your thoughtful ideas and self-reflections - it's nice to be reminded that you are a real person with real struggles who is introspective and always striving to be the best version of yourself!

I just wanted to say that when I first saw you on Matthias's channel, I thought you were going to be one of those YouTube girls that made me feel bad about myself for not being like them, but you aren't. You are exactly what I want to be without changing who I am or faking through my days. You went from someone I occasionally saw on other YouTube channels, to one of my most inspiring people. As someone who just spent most of the day crying, because I am not sure when I am gonna be able to see my boyfriend again (we were forced into long distance relationship after being together for over 2 years), this really touched me. It is important to work on ourselves and respect the other person in the relationship as well. No one is perfect, but we can all try and be better :)

I always appreciate the realistic viewpoint that you provide. I feel like in society, people idolize everyone else's relationship (especially those in the spotlight) and that's a disservice all around. Relationships require work and most are  not roses and champagne every single day. Serious love requires work and its wonderful when your s/o can help you to be a better person.

I've been married for 3 years+ and in a relationship for 8+years. This is exactly what "love" is. It's not a fairytale or anything you would ever want to watch on TV. But when you can understand love for what it really is, you become a better person for it.

I totally agree!! I was so selfish with my boyfriend and he put up with it just to be with me, until i realized that he deserved something better and started to treat him equally and our relationship is 100% better and we don't fight anymore
