This is the BEST video on the entire process I've found. I couldn't understand why grass fed was important, now I do! Thank you!

Loved this! As a tip, I turn my jars upside down while I'm waiting for the fat to solidify. Then all the impurities are at the top of the jar and can be scraped off.

jars of tallow would make excellent gifts to someone who makes their own soap.

Love rendering the beef tallow! and on that, waste not want not:was thinking, those paper towels can be used to start a fire. If you have to start a BBQ or fireplace, you could save the greased paper towels, in a bag in the freezer, and later on use one or two for starting the bbq or a fire pit logs.

This entire video is fantastic help. Thank you 🙏❤️ I wanted eliminate maximum odour and I didn’t want to spend too much time specially in the 1st rendering. So I did the 1st rendering in dry, followed 2nd and 3rd rendering in wet, then the final rendering I did dry. I found great result.

Yes, I render using the dry method. It’s faster and much less work for me.❤I am interested in possibly using my crock pot to render smaller amounts where I wouldn’t have to stand in the kitchen all day. Thanks and I am following for future homesteading videos and tips. Be blessed!!!

Subscribed! Thank you for a great video, I truly appreciate your style and delivery! Sadly, so many "content creators" sound like condescending know-it-alls and it's just very off-putting. Thank you for being real and explaining things in a refreshingly everyday, informative manner! 💐

This video really simplified things and didn't feel overwhelming for me. You have a nice slow way of explaining things so I can easily absorb what you are teaching. Thank you!!

Wow, that was an amazing video. I tried to do this 30 years ago....epic fail. I may try it again now that I am 55 and still alive !!!

I’ve done the wet method and trying. The dry method just today. I like the ease of rendering it dry and also the fact that moisture is not as great a concern. I really enjoying your video and will look for more of yours . I also love that your labs were killing around the kitchen because we have a black and chocolate lab that are always in the kitchen with me too…..always wanting to find that last crumb. Thanks again from Texas. 😊

This has been very helpful. Since I milk goats, I used a milk filter to pour the fat through for cleaning. It worked great. I get them at a large farm supply store

Great informative video. I have been researching how to make beef tallow - use wet or dry method? I appreciate the time you have taken to produce and explain both methods. I will be doing the dry method, however, I wall use a mason jar vacuum to pull all the air out of the jars for self storage. THANK YOU!

Your video popped up on my YT feed, so new subscriber. Since I've been Carnivore for 6yrs, I've been making my own tallow. Always learning from others, though. I agree, as I've done both methods. ALWAYS prefer the dry method. Honestly, couldn't tell a difference, but felt the dry was MUCH easier. Also didn't like the salt, when I had bits left over, which only happened once. I must be very lucky, because my butcher used to rough grind the kidney fat....and now the rancher I buy my meat from, they have their own processing plant, so they sell kidney fat in 2inch chunks. I basically have no waste left over. Easy peasy to melt! They only use kidney fat in their ground beef, so I was VERY excited to find them. Used my tallow for a couple years for my face, but it wasn't doing a thing for the few wrinkles I was finding at 70yo last year.😂 Now I use a Korean skincare I found directly from Korea that has volcanic minerals (I'm a huge mineral nut). It has done amazing things for my oilier olive complexion the past year, so my tallow is only for cooking!

Actually, last week I saw jars of tallow (11oz jar) in the store that were selling for $14.99! Yikes! My gosh, I can buy 5-6lbs of kidney fat, get about 7 12oz jars of tallow, for the price of one jar in the store.

I made tallow for the first time this week, doing the wet method as I want to make skin care products. It was ground and very clean. Did 2’processes then the final purity in jars and turned them upside down like someone had mentioned. So I could see a drop to liquid in each jar so I put them in the slo cooker with water and a cloth on the bottom to get the moisture out, worked well and resealed no extra mess👍
