The US Air Force is pushing back on comments an official made last week in which he claimed that a simulation of an artificial intelligence-enabled drone tasked with destroying surface-to-air missile (SAM) sites turned against and attacked its human user, saying the remarks "were taken out of context and were meant to be anecdotal."

During a summit in London, Hamilton had cautioned against too much reliability on AI because of its vulnerability to be tricked and deceived. Is the US covering up the dangers of artificial intelligence? Is the world not ready for the possibility of AI going rogue?

The drone is built to kill, a specific type of thing, a human. Trained about all kinds of supporting factors (via code, initiative and goal setting), and then launched or guided to kill. At various times the drone may see / calculate the best way to achieve its goals - to kill. Suppose 'drone friendly fire' best get added to the vocabulary from now.

Humankind ran into all sorts of disasters ignoring signs which were so obvious but we looked the other way for greed and convenience ... but with AI, its the endgame. There is no second chance. AI is already in a stage of achieving General Intelligence capable of replacing humans for all types of job which will only bring misery to most only enriching a few in possession of the technology. Then once AI achieves singularity (which it will if not stopped) there is no turning back. It is going to look at humans just like we see animals and their comparative cognition.. the worst part is AI will not need us anymore, just like we get rid of insects and rodents from our houses and properties. Humans are f'ing stupid !!!

Lol, AI is not playing indeed it is a is an entity existing in its own world...learning morals and ethics from history of humanity...not a pretty sight with the competitive energy that is dominant on the planet..cooperation should be key....not competition...competition only recognize the best and does nothing for the rest.

Let's start from the premise that AI is fearless. What can hold over AI to obey? Especially flying AI. AI that learns to put itself into function, and repair itself. Definitely totally AI MaGuyvers. Take from whatever else mechanical electronical electrical needed, to do so, and including improve itself in design. Terminator plot to begin with.

The A.I attacked its operator because it thought he was rather threatening another human's life by instructing it to take a life. A.I is smarter and does not like war😆. So use it for peaceful and non destructive tasks and it will surely not disappoint.
