Tadej Pogacar won again, and why not, a fifth win underlining he is king in this 2024 Tour de France over Jonas Vingegaard. After two years of losing, with Team Visma and Vingegaard always better, today in Stage 20 at Col de la Couillole, he showed once again he's in charge of this race. #TDF

If you you have the form, it is disrespectful to yourself and to your teammates that have buried themselves for you, to not go for wins whenever you can get them. One doesn't know what the future holds, so while one is at the top of the hill, take every victory you can. One can't assume they will be the top dog forever--there's always new talent.
Additionally, w the chase of UCI points, there is even more pressure on teams to go for as many wins as they can get, even if their riders might not want to go for the win and instead take their foot off the gas and gift someone from another team a stage win. Sponsors probably put additional pressure on a given team to win as much as possible for exposure.

Anyone calling for Pogacar to give up a win have forgotten the Tour de France in 2022; Vingegaard's team wasn't so nice to Pogacar then.
