America: drive in a straight line on a quiet road for a few minutes
UK: drive on busy roads for an hour

I can't be the only one who is baffled that this is all you have to do to pass? This is so easy...

Relating to all these Europeans, in New Zealand we have to drive for 45-60 minutes on the busiest possible roads, do reverse parallel parks on said busy roads, three point turns (you would have failed here if you did it as slow as in the video), lane changes, multi lane roundabouts and my least favourite - turning onto the opposite side of a 4 lane road. Honestly how do you guys even feel safe driving knowing this is all you have to do to get a licence?

While I struggle to finally get my license in Poland I’m so jealous of how easy your driving test is. In my country only about 30 percent pass the first time and in many cities you have to wait around a month for another try. You can’t train driving with your parent so you have to buy expensive lessons to not lose your skills until the next test.

Also for some reason a lot of driving examiners here are very rude and disrespectful towards people who take the test which makes the whole experience extremely stressful and prone to even simple mistakes.

I took my test today here in Montgomery Alabama and I almost passed, until a crazy driver in front of me suddenly stopped and I almost hit it from the back. My instructor freaked out, but told me the next time I take it again it'll be free.

Update: I finally got my license with a passing score of 98%!!!😄😄😄

In europe to pass the test u need to drive 40 minutes on busy roads, to make reverse and paralel park without moving forword, perfect hill start, all of this on a manual car.

I had 42 hours of lessons, in 1 hour slots over 6 months. The actual test in Scotland was nearly 1 hour long. I think the difference in the USA is the lack of roundabouts, it makes it much easier, and they have smooth roads. Most roads in the UK are based on cattle tracks.

I took my road test in Florida and all I did was drive in residential neighborhoods. Preformed a left turn, right turn, 3 point turn, and a u turn. Then straight in parking and backing. My examiner only asked me what to do if we were parked on a hill, didn’t have to demonstrate it or anything. Easiest test i’ve ever taken in my life lol

most europeans laugh how easy the driving test in the us is.. here in germany you have to go to a driving school for a few months where you pay $1500-$3000 on average and then you have to take a final road test on busy public roads which takes about 45-60 minutes..

Gosh this looks like heaven, in the UK it costs £30 / lesson, average hours is 40, so that's £30*40 which is £1, 200. The test costs £62, the theory costs £23, and you usually have to buy a highway code app to revise for the theory which is around £4.00ish. Total just under £1, 300. And you'll be driving in narrow, bendy UK roads where the road markings are peeling off on like 80% of them. Moving to America 🤣

In Croatia you first have to take theory lessons for about two weeks and get 90% minimum on the theory test (there are also some excluding questions), then you have to take 9 hour long fist aid education that also requiers a theoretical/practical test (it was my favorite part of driving school honestly) and only then you can start driving with your instructor. You have to drive for 30 hours minimum and then you can apply for a driving exam. Each time you fail you are required to take another 3 hours of lessons. Exam lasts for a minimum of 30 minutes driving through dense city traffic and doing roundabots, lane changing, all kinds o parking, merging etc. All that on of course a manual (you can't legally drive a manual if you get your license on an automatic). Also as some Europeans have pointed out, we can only drive with an instructor which makes it difficult as you often drive many days apart (I drove 2 hours every week on average and it was hard remembering stuff for the next lesson). The whole process on average lasts about 6 months (tehnically you could do it in a month but it's impossible administrativley) and costs about $1000 on average. You wait a month for your exam (you apply after finishing 30 hours driving so you wouldn't drive for a month waiting your exam-most people pay 5 or so lessons extra to keep their skills sharp) and the examinors are very strict. It isn't rare to see people failing 2 or 3 times. Each exam (theory, first aid, driving) costs about aditional $60. After getting your drivers license your parents will likely educate you further in snow and rain driving, night driving etc. as we really get the whole range of conditions in a year here. I am writing all this to say how I feel very confident driving in most scenarios and exam show on video looks just way to easy. At the end of the day you are driving a ton and a half machine at 60+ miles per hour next to others going in an opposite direction. I just would feel confident enough to drive with this little konwledge.
