Professionally Made In China? Milwaukee Square ended sockets open new job opportunities for sockets!

Milwaukee proudly proclaims "Professionally Made In China" on their line of square based sockets. While I don't see any obvious downside to the design, I do see many potential advantages. But no matter what, Milwaukee has shown that there is still plenty of room to evolve in the shape of the outside of the socket.

I have the whole set and if anyone reads the reviews on these they’ll see the reviews are mostly 5 star and I also rate them a 5. The anti roll is big for me for when you just sit a socket down to switch sizes. It stays put. If you drop it of course it’ll bounce around but just sitting it there even on a slight slope it stays and you don’t have to go searching.

The accompanying ratchet for these is excellent as well and fits nicely. They have stubby and full size. Thayre extremely smooth and the best I’ve used and I don’t have any cheap tools so that’s saying a lot.

If you want a great set give these a try. If you want individual sockets go with snap on or another brand.

This is what they write on Apple boxes too. That square socket is really cool and a big advantage.

Yeah, they're cool, but I think the Sockets with a Hex has more possibilities. Like Astro Nanos and Spark Plug Sockets. 🔨👍😁👍🔧

Hello again Doc
Thank you for another Great Video. I think you maybe the first person to review these tools. I've been wondering just how well do they work. The square shaped according to the comments made here are very favorable. These are all six point I believe, I don't know if they come in the twelve point sockets or not? I would of course need the twelve point sockets to work on Aircraft. Please do a update on how well they work out for you. All my sockets are old School Craftsman. I am researching for my next tool purchase. Again thank you

Something that I don't see a lot of people talking about is Hong Kong. Milwaukee is a great example of this, TTI (Milwaukee's parent) is not a Chinese company, it's a Hong Kong company. This doesn't mean their tools aren't made in China, but a big difference compared to most cheap tools is where in China they're made. TTI has a factory in Dongguan (Pearl River Delta) which is the area by Hong Kong. That area is more well known for producing good products. Unfortunately thanks to China controlling Hong Kong pretty much everything now has to be listed as "Made in China" and it's hurts a lot of the good factories that still exist. The same thing is going to happen to Taiwan and "Made in Taiwan" if China ever gets control of that country.

Doesn't matter where it's made, it's the materials they use to make them (which is quality materials).

Being able to use a wrench, anti-roll body, and the warranty is what makes these sockets worth it

Question and I am not being condescending; why in the world with a normal sockets and ratchets, a plethora of open end and combination wrenches, plier wrenches and adjustable wrenches would anyone need to or want to use a square socket with an adjustable wrench or any other means of turning the socket with anything other than a ratchet!?

I have a buddy who’s got the whole set. He seems to really like them. I think they are weird but interesting

I have to agree with @Stacey Lewis on this. I have both the 3/8th and the 1/2 in sets, they are my go to every day chromies. I got them for one reason, the anti roll. And, if Milwaukee made a impact socket like that, I would buy them in a heart beat. No more excuses for loosing that 10mm socket now 🤣

I'm confused how the 3/4in wrench was dead on, when the 19mm wasn't. 19mms is slightly smaller than 3/4in

Made in USA is but a dream, a has been. Imagine buying tools at Lowe's and everything was made in USA and priced like Snap-on! Americans priced themselves out of manufacturing a long time ago! Now I just reminisce about the glory days!

"Professionally Made in China." Let's think about that statement for a while.

Professionally means that someone is getting paid and is earning his living from doing that profession. In this case, making sockets.

So all that statement means is Milwaukee have got a factory in China who make tools, to make them some sockets rather than a farmer who has a foundry on his property and makes the odd item at the weekend as a hobby.

I think AvE calls it "Marketing W#nk."

They are square so they don’t roll away
