OK, this is the closest I have ever been to being a Lateral question; I was 4 feet away from doing this. I was playing in a HS golf tournament, they brought me along for pity's sake, basically, and I shanked my tee shot off the first tee onto the 18th green. I thought the opposing coach was going to asphyxiate laughing when I asked if I could putt out.

I've been to the Ledgeview golf course! Grew up minutes from it. Haven't been since the 90's though, so no advantage there. My guess is he wasn't on the tee that corresponds with the hole he sunk.

In disc golf we refer to this as a 'black ace' and it's significantly more common. Not only because disc golf courses tend to be more compact, and secondary targets more common, but because there are more obstacles to bounce off of. XD
