And just a week earlier I uploaded a video with the title "We Will Never Die". It... it shouldn't have happened, not like that.

As the knights escort their queen to the memorial grounds, she mournfully holds a cracked and dented helmet in her hands, ignoring the fangs of metal as they jab into her palms. She wants the slight pain, to help her remember the one she held dear, and how he was taken from her. A soldier, breaking conduct, touches her shoulder and says in a soft voice, "He was a great man. As long as I live, and yet beyond that, I will let no one forget his life."
The queen considered these words. At first, a part of her scoffed. No one would forget that he lived! It was because of him that peace was wrought! But then, as she mulled over the words further, she realized what the soldier had actually said. While her people would always remember her beloved and how he saved their land, would they ever truly remember him as she or his fellow knights would? His laughs, his smiles, his love... his tears? As the queen and her knights entered the memorial grounds, the queen came to a quiet conclusion in her mind. She would not let anyone forget the life of her beloved, just as the soldier wouldn't. Even if she had to haunt his grave after her own death, telling curious travelers of her memories. As the queen stood before the marble slab marking his grave, she spoke in a quiet voice, a voice meant for her love's ears only. "Never forget, my love. I will ensure others remember your life, as they remember your death." She set his helm by the slab, a testament to his bravery and service. And then with a final kiss blown to the air, the queen and her knights left the memorial.

In darkness,
I shall be light.
In times of doubt,
I shall keep faith.
In throes of rage,
I shall hone my craft.
In the midst of battle,
I shall show no fear.
In the face of death,
*I shall have no remorse.*

"Knights raise your swords!"
"Today we remember a brother of our brotherhood"
"This man inspired hope, leadership, and helped bring peace to our Kingdom"
"Let not his honor be disregared or disgraced"
"Let not his sacrifice go unnoticed and in vain"
"He was a brother and a friend"
*knight holds back tears and introduces the Queen*
"I, the queen shall not let this knight's legacy of honor and loyalty die it shall be remember through out history!!!"
*the queen slowly tears the, crowd cheers for the knight*
*the Queen gets flash backs of her relationship with the knight*
*Crowd still cheers and the Queen breaks a smile*

"Our comrades do not die when they stop living... They die when their memory, their sacrifice, is forgotten. So if you remember one thing men, remember that you no longer hold only your own lives in your hands, you hold the lives of all those that died in your honor."

I just imagine this being something a commander says to his men before they go charging in lol

The guard slowly approached their princess, kneeling on the muddy ground. Their eyes gleam with grief and sympathy as their queen held her brother's helmet.

The princess sobbed, as tears involuntary fell on her face. The sound was heart-wrenching that the guards couldn't help but to weep.

The lose of a loved ones, they knew so well.

I'll ask you a question
What comes after war?
Is it a time to rebuild?
Is it a time to celebrate?

Tis neither
It is a time to mourn
For the fallen
For the living

As to not forget the sacrifices
As to not make the same mistake twice
It is a time to remember the mistake of war
So that it will never happen again

I watched as the princess and her guards walked down the cobblestone road. The sky cried mournful tear drops, sharing in the sorrows of the people. My mind flashed back to the stories my grandmother had told me about the day he became king. “Long live the king!” They shouted joyfully. “Long remember the king.” I whispered silently, and the sorrowful procession continued out of view.

Hi friends, homeschooling mommy here!

Will you please read this for my 14 year old. I had her listen to this piece in an effort to evoke creative writing. This is what she wrote...

I was the spy. My longing dream to take down The Everdesent Kingdom had been taken away from me. Everyone found out my secret. I was the soldier from the other side. I was the one who set the castle to flames. I was the one who got close to the king and betrayed him the minute I got the chance. My reign was over, I was exposed, these moments were my last. Holding my bloodstained helmet, I walked beside the other soldiers of Everdesent. I remembered how much they welcomed me into the kingdom, how much they trained me to be the best. This was what I wanted, I wanted Everdesent to feel the betrayal they once made me feel. So why did I feel guilty? They got what they deserved. As I was ordered to execution, I felt my heart twist inside and out. I wasn’t scared, I was regretful.

_After the battle, after the struggle... people will begin to forget_
_no one will remember that the bloodshed initiated by greed and hatred_
_involved a group of valiant common folk who became knights upon their death_
_people who knew nothing about fighting...._
_common men who heed the call, common men who came to defend._

_But as people, even the wisest will forget_
_Much like people who don't notice flowers blooming on the side of the road_
_they'll simply walk on by..._

_but i wont, i will never!!_

_I love it!_
_Even if it will be forgotten with the passage of time_
_I love the world that those men made for us_
_I love this world, this beautiful world, that you left for us_
_Thank you!_

What is the measure of a person that sacrifices themselves for the well-being of their equals? Can enough tributes be held for those who laid down their lives for us? How can we hope to ever repay such selflessness, such greatness of heart and soul, and above all else, such courage? We may never be able to repay what they have given us. Not only must we hold their deeds in the highest regards, we must never forget. Never. For the sacrifice of each and every brave soul will never be in vain.

That afternoon saw a somber procession go through the streets, streets that shone with silver in the sun, now dim and muted in the rain that chilled those watching.

Banners of a now broken house led the way, borne by friends who rode with him that day, the day nearly all was lost, and a day where his sacrifice closed the rift, stemming the tide of darkness, saving not just his world, but every world, a sacrifice they would never know.

The cold made many shiver, and tears mixed with rain in rivers down the streets, but none averted their gaze, none sought shelter. All watched as now four knights, their brilliant armor clouded and dull walking in honor guard around her, his love, his lady, now broken, like his helmet she carried, cracked from within, stained with blood.

No tears ran from her eyes, though they were filled with sorrow, for she had no more so shed. No sobs were heard of her, for her throat was dry and felt like broken glass.

All bowed and knelt as she passed, none willing to stand, until she passed through to the graves of the fallen, the graves of those who had made the sacrifice, the graves of heroes.

She laid the helm, all that remained of him in the stone, a small hollow in a freezing mausoleum, and fell to her knees, dry sobs echoing from her chest as her torn, bleeding hands no longer felt the weight of what kept the face of her love, his face, safe for her.

Two guards, robed and armored in black took up places along either side of the grave, gently placing their staves on the ground with a soft click.

A golden light, soft and faint, shone over the helm, as it would for an age or more, illuminated every tear, every rend in the cold metal.

King and queen, both in debt, put arms, gilded in norm, now bare and clothed in black embroidered with silver, around her shoulders, comforting and failing, silent tears running down their faces for their daughter's loss and pain, suffering for which there is no end.

The most beautiful things come from the depths of the human soul-consciousness and heart, things so little explored, but what is done with love, it is mildly beautiful and wonderful !!! Thanks for this feast for the senses and a great movie !!! Respect and bow of old BG.

I will never forget
This moment on
For the lessons I learned
I will keep it in my heart

I will never forget
All my failures
For there is a lesson
In every mistakes I've done

I will never forget
Love I've received
For there are those who care
In everything that I'll do

I will never forget
The hope I have
For hope keeps me going
When that is the only choice

I will never forget
All that I've learned
For I will never know
When they will be at great use.

A good friend and fellow D&D player passed away this past Sunday. I plan on playing this at our group's memorial session in his honor as we retire his character.
