Ok, but imagine. You are now 500 years old seeing the love of you life die in a hospital bed from the window, now old and tired. They refused to turn and be with you for eternity so they could have a human life. You watched them throughout the years, saw them getting married, having kids and growing old with someone else. You know they loved and missed you just the same but couldn’t chose the life you did. When they children leave the side of their bad after their final breath, you sneak into the room just to whisper in they’re ears “I still love you for infinity” and kiss their cheek.

It wasn’t a surprise at all. Still, the pain came, an ache in the whole of your being, from your timeless body to your wilted soul. Death came as a young child picking flowers in the garden of life. You knew it. They knew it, too, even though they never said it. They never asked questions. They never said, "I will die before you, because you will never die." They never asked, "Will you ever die?" "Will you ever age?" "Will you forget me?" To the latter, you have an answer. You won’t forget, never. You promise this to the emptiness beside you as you pick fresh flowers in the wild. They liked wild flowers. And deep-down, you know it’s useless, you know that they won’t ever get to smell the scent of flowers again, won’t ever get to even breathe again, deep asleep by your side, now deep asleep by themself in a bed made of cold stone and rotten wood. They deserved to live, more than you do. You wish you could have given them your life in exchange- "Take it, you will make better use of it." You know they would’ve declined. They had no desire to live forever, an obedient flower willing to wither when winter sets in. Now winter sets in your heart, already caged by stone cold skin, dead yet alive for too long of a time now. You wish you could join them. But death won’t pick you, not yet, maybe not ever. Maybe forever, you will be stuck walking on this earth remembering the heart of a living the world will have long forgotten. You decide, you will paint. You will sculpt. You will make them a treasure, an immortal figure, that will live through time through art. Everyone will know their face, maybe their name. Everyone will remember their eyes, and tender lips, soft features, a blossom of life itself. You have all the time in the world to remember them.

“Your favourite flowers, your camellias, finally bloomed my love.” she secretly smiled as her starkly glassy eyes looked down at her basket.

Her slender neck craned up as the wind blew, dancing with her midnight-like curled locks. She enjoyed the breeze you see. It made her feel the slightest bit more alive since his absence. No. Since he was ruthlessly taken away from her.

Spreading her arms out, her emerald dress flowed with the wind. She wished it would carry her endlessly through the sky like a bird, hoping it would take her back to him.

Back to her dearest.

But she knew that was not the case.

She opened her eyes to look upon the dreary sky. The grey clouds that hung above her almost taunting her, acting like her barriers preventing her from ever being able to at least see the sun.

After spending her eternity locked away in the regretful existence of darkness, the moment she wished to rid herself and step free was also taken away from her.

“How cruel” she hissed, squeezing her skirt, ripping through it with her talons.

She glared up at the useless sky once more, cursing continuously in her head. He used to speak so often of this ‘God’. A deity-like being who was claimed to love all. Love every single being. Monster or no monster.

“I call out to you, great being” she began.

“I say, I call out to you! God! Reveal yourself to me!” she continued, screaming at the top of her lungs.

Her vision turned crimson as her eyes pooled with blood.

“You love me do you not? You supposedly care for a monster such as myself!”

She could practically see his gleaming smile, the one she oh so adored every waking moment despite her cursed life.

“You do not need love me. I do not need of your so-called love.”

Nothing else mattered but him.

“I need nothing. But he-“

Her eyes widened as she felt her bloody tears trickle down her skin.

“He deserved everything”

All loving? All caring? All powerful?

What’s so miraculous about this God if all he does is lie?

All-loving? Don’t make me laugh.

“Why did you take him from me! Why was my love dragged away from me! To your such clutches he weeps! Weeps for we are one! We-“

Collapsing onto her knees, she dug her fingernails into the Earth below, carelessly watching her blood drip down into the dirt and mix into a repulsing mess.

“He was mine. I was his.” she whispered, so quietly as to not let this God hear her.

“You do not love me. You do not care for me. A deity who dares not show to our eyes, a deity who casts death upon those ridiculously undeserving of it is no deity at all.”

Her malice and anger was gushing, spewing from her beautiful lips. So poisonous the very camellias she picked for her dearest had wilted away, suffocating from her hatred.

“You are but a monster. Both you and I. We are the same. Tucked away in hiding however, I do not.”

She clenched her fists only to bring them up and wipe away her bloodied tears. Using her hideous strength, she stood up despite the grief that weighed her down.

“I will live. I will live as a monster. For my love fell for me as such. I will continue as such.” she swore, her passion laced with every single word that slipped from her mouth as she lay on the earth above his grave.

Cuddling and rubbing her head into it, her supple, slender hand pressed up against the granite, tracing over his etched in initials.

“I love you forever. Forever and ever my darling. For our love exceeds time and all beings existing in it. You are mine and I am yours. To our eternity I will live.”

"Don't leave me" she whispers, pushes my hair back and then places her hand on my cheek. She's being too careful, too delicate, as if she's afraid of breaking me.

She's sitting on our bed and I'm lying on it. Her eyes are staring down at me, big with tears, her bottom lip is trembling "Please - you were getting better"

The years never came for her, but they certainly didn't forget me. She looks exactly the way I met her all those ages ago. Her jaw is still sharp as ever and not a single wrinkle adorns her pale skin, her locks are still as black as the night sky with not a sole white hair in them.

"The doctors said you were going to be fine" She furrows her brow that way she does when she's trying to find an answer, helplessly looking at me up and down like she'd discover the cure for my disease doing so.

"They said you had a couple of years, maybe even more." she took a shaky breath "We... we can try another treatment - there's always new medicine, you know how inovative you people are inventing those things" she gives me a small smile "We still have time"

"My love" I say and her tears finally fall. It hurts so much to see her like this. "I'm afraid we're going to have to say goodbye"

I was there, at my own funeral. I saw my family crying- in more agony that they never found my body. Their little girl was gone. No longer a little girl, but a monster. Plucked from the vine at a young age, sucked dry by a ferocious beast. The marks on my neck still bright red and scabbed. I no longer have a home. I no longer have my mortality. My family will continue to grow while I remain the same. They'll visit my grave, never knowing what came of me. I'll watch them visit my grave unable to speak to them, afraid of what I might do. Afraid I'll turn them into a monster like me.

She knew it was coming. They both knew it was coming. The love of her life had finally caught Death's eye, and Death was going to take him from her. She supposed she shouldn't be too surprised, Werewolves can't live forever, it's true they live much longer than humans but alas, they are mortal. And she is not. What an irony. What cruelty. He was laid upon their bed, old and grey, time had taken his strength and agility from him, but it would never take her memory of him from her, his handsome face, although wilted still remained, his heart and his love for her still remained, she held his hand and listened to his laboured breaths, watching him slip from her grasp, he looked at her. He had loved her long enough to know that brave face was hiding sadness and sorrow behind it, he reached up and brushed hair out of her face to see her more clearly and lowered his hand again "I'm ready..." He spoke, his voice hoarse and gravelly, a mere shell of what it used to be. She could feel her heart breaking, but she smiled at him "I know" She said softly, he looked at her one last time before closing his eyes, and his very last breath left his chest. She held onto him, maybe if she held on tight enough, then he would stay with her. But she knew that Death had come and taken him away, she finally let her tears fall, she let herself cry, she let herself wail, she let herself scream, she let herself mourn the man she had loved with all of her cold heart. He would be buried in the garden, would have a monument dedicated to him, as she remembered him, when he was young and they first fell in love, it would be grand and made of marble, it would stand against time and not fall victim to it. And she would visit it every night, she would mourn and stay locked away in her Manor. She would stay like this until her heart had healed enough where she could bare the thought of going out. In time she would be alright. She would be able to smile and socialise again, she'd rejoin the land of the living again. But she would never give her heart to another man. Not after him. Never, after him.
