Don't know about conspiracy theories... but based on his personality, I'd say Holzhauer might actually prefer second place on the all-time list

An honorable young man. Donated a portion of his winnings to charity, and after his defeat, James tweeted "Thanks for the support, and remember to be good humans"

James did fair to protect second place in the event Emma was wrong, but she was right and here's the daunting reality, and this segment backs it up. Had James wagered his entire lot, Emma would still have defeated him by just $1. It was that close of a margin, but that is the truth. Regardless, James' last game, even we knew it was going to happen, was absolutely exciting because only one answer was missed, which is a rare feat on this show. Both James, Emma and Jay played it very well

You are missing the point. James mentioned much earlier that he was afraid that he would not be able to compete as a professional gambler in many casinos because of his winning strategies. As the saying goes..the House always wins.

I don't watch Jeopardy very often, but I have seen others start with the $1000 clues.
