This is the first part of an Unreal Engine 4 tutorial on how to change the character mesh of your third person player. In this One I will reuse the Manequin third person character blueprint and just change the skeletal mesh.

The next one will be about adding in the animation of the low poly Blender model.

He didnt mention a critical step that he did. The default character selection is looking at all actor BPs (blueprints) you have. He has duplicated the stock BP and named it "LowPoly" etc, so he can find it in that drop down in his project.

So either duplicate that BP and give it the name you want, then find it in that drop down; or just do this in the original BP and don't rename it since it's already the default. You can do the latter option and rename it too if you want without having to change the setting in that drop down, unreal is smart enough to keep up. Either will produce the correct result.

If it's not switching over to your new character, make sure to delete the default character from the scene first!

I have a character bug, I can not import the character, only the camera appears, use version 4.19.

This didn't work for me. The default mannequin just shows up.
