This video was a life saver!! As a DJ one of biggest issues with the new MacBook pros are the lack of USB options and the hubs that I’ve bought could never hold up due to the lack of power. Literally just bought this item after watch your video. Great content!!!

Thanks man! Your videos have been really helpful for me in deciding which direction to go with my Macbook Air purchase. I decided to get the 8GB Ram one though. Hopefully that's enough :)

Thanks for showing this off. Was thinking of switching to the M1 Air as well, and wasn't sure if it would support a solution like this in my studio too. You got way more gear than me, and if this works for you, I'm set.

Hi Jon I've applied the "one cable" setup in my home studio and the result is amazing. Thx a lot

At abou 5:55 I nearly dropped dead from the clean cable management. It looks like an eagles nest.

Any updates about your experience with the setup after a few months? Reliable? Problems? Good audio quality or pops/cracks?

Love how far the studio has come Jon. Also whilst everyone must be going crazy over the mess of cables I know you’re saving that til last as it’s your favourite bit really!! It will be a work of art when it’s finished I am sure. All the best dude, Trevor

these new M1 macs are powerful, but the Air?! Unreal

Do you have a solution for using external SSDs over wifi when using the macbook different rooms in the house (i think the SSDs will have some performance decrease because of the wireless thing) but when connecting to the cable the SSDs deliver full performance? And THEN being able to unplug one of these SSDs for mobile work and use them for plugging it into the MB directly at a friends studio

Thanks for the video. I use Plugable Hub for my WFH set up. It provides connectivity to two 4k monitors and plenty of USB connectivity to everything else. It also provides provides power to my M1 Mackbook Air.

Hi, the second link is wrong, there's wi-fi router instead Usb C Hub. Please check it.

The lighting in your studio is really smooth and looks cool, with zones of slightly different colours, from various screens. My compliments.

**Buyer beware** Videos like this need to specify exactly what model MacBook Pro is being discussed as I recently purchased a Belkin USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) Gigabit Ethernet adapter for my mid-2015 MacBook Pro which is not compatible with a USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 adapter. This model of MacBook Pro requires a Thunderbolt 2 Gigabit Ethernet adapter instead. Simply calling it a MacBook Pro is doing a disservice for those who may end up wasting money buying the wrong adapter.

I bought this dock hoping to do the same with my m1 macbook air. Instead this wavlink introduced noise in every element of my studio. It shot noise through my audio interface (usb), the headphone output of the m1 mac. The headphone out of my 4k monitor, the audio output of the wavlink itself. I swapped it out for a caldigit thunderbolt 4 element hub, problem solved. I found the wavlink dock to be of cheap plastic and low quality in all aspects. I can say this video review should be looked at with the use of a c-clamp and shoddy cable management as the tip of the iceberg for prospective buyers. Lesson learned for me here. Thanks.

what about the backup hard drives? Those would need to be ejected properly, rather than just unplugged?
