It is a good idea to add alarm to a u-lock, chain lock or even just on the bike. I am a fan of alarms. This is a 6k abus chain and there is too much slack for my liking. I have a 10k abus chain that is only 2 foot long. Much stronger but heavier per foot and doesn't have the locking clearance of a long chain loop. I have thick heavy link chain locks but i really don't use them because they are heavy. To me the long heavy chain locks are better to leave at a place that you lock up regularly than riding around with unless you ride in a very high theft city. To me u-locks are the best for my bikes but a chain is definitely appreciated if I can't find a good post. When I can't find a spot to fit my u-lock, it stinks.

Can you turn the alarm off remotely? Can't imagine how annoying that would be to my neighbors if it goes off while I'm not home.

I use the ABUS Bordo 6000 which is the folding lock with an alarm. It's great but can be cumbersome to lock up. How securely-attached is this to the bike?

The lock is meh but that alarm is the deterrent.

LPL can unlock that in seconds and not trigger the alarm. According to what I seen of the key, it might be able to be wave raked open just as fast as having the key. Since it thinks you are using the key, the alarm never goes off. 😂😂😂

I doubt a "really really loud" alarm will save your bike from thieves. It's just a waste of money. Just save your money by not leaving your bike in a public place.

What makes it special is that they use a hard to find rare and expensive battery to operate it🤦 that alone was a good reason for me not to buy one, in fact all abus devices use same battery.
