Yaz Meets Tegan and Ace The Power of the Doctor

Their meeting was a whole lot more civil than Sarah Jane and Rose. Given the fact Yaz is in love with the Doctor and Tegan said that they used to be her, she must have thought that Ace and Tegan were too. 😂

In all fairness, the Doctor had a very different relationship with Ace and Tegan. Tegan was her friend, Ace was practically a daughter.

"We used to be you decades back" is the best line. The new companion understands. I like her delivery which is not the snotty "well it's me now!!!' approach other companions meeting past ones took. Not sure who Yaz is but I appreciate that.

Instead of just having the Doctor say "I should go this one alone", they should have made this the reason Yaz leaves the Doctor. She realizes that her time with the Doctor is ultimately fleeting and that she should depart when things are good or else you'll be left with tons of resentment like Tegan.

What I loved about this scene was the ease at which Thirteen interacted with classic who Companions.

I think this was my favourite part. The best thing for me, was Tegan and Ace dynamic. I hope RTD give a spin off for Ace and Tegan, or Ace and Martha Jones.

Yaz was so surprised when she met Tegan & Ace and that they preceded her as the Doctor's assistant decades back.

Tegan and ace were great, yaz and the doctor on the other hand were too awkward, that it genuinely hurt.

Is it me, or does Yaz look like she feels betrayed . Like knowing they're were other female companions before her. 😂

Ace was the Doctor's mentee, she was never a "romantic interest". Same with Tegan who was more like a homie. A lot of the Classic Who female companions were just friends and mentees tbh (apart from Jo, who I personally think Third Doctor was COMPLETELY IN LOVE WITH but she didn't reciprocate because she fell in love with Cliff).... RTD changed the game.

I wish Yaz and the Doctor would have kissed. Its such a shame they admitted there love for one another too late and that the 13th doctor didn't stick around longer to see the relationship go somewhere. That certainly would of been a first for Doctor who.
