At a recent convention, Sophie Aldred told a story of filming the support group scene. William Russell was having some problems with his line, at one point he spilled his tea and could not stop apologizing for it. John Bishop, who has an older relative who also suffers from dementia, sat on the floor behind William and fed him his line. However, this was also a bit challenging because William started imitating John's Liverpool accent.

7:20 William Russell, at 98 years old, portraying Ian Chesterton for, potentially, the last time ever before he passes.

imagining ian's conversation with the other companions is so funny. like everyone else had a relatively pleasant time that they more or less signed up for but ian (and barbara) literally just got kidnapped by one. imagine him being like wait wait wait.... so he INVITED you on board???? wow. he just locked us inside the tardis and flew us to prehistoric earth. we didn't get a choice.

My fave 'reunion' was the Master and Ace.

"Last time I saw you, you were half cat"
"Well, a man's allowed to experiment..."

Sacha just chewed the scenery so much, and I loved every minute he was on screen.

The 5th Doctor answering Tegan with Adric brought tears to my eyes.

It's a shame Tom Baker or Christopher Eccleston weren't involved. Still, this episode was just.... FANTASTIC!

I love the robes moment, a minor bit of levity in a dire situation, but it also continues the joke that the Doctor cannot stop arguing with themselves regardless of the circumstances when there is more then 1.

Elisabeth Sladen was significantly missed in this scene

1:26 I was genuinely surprised when Paul McGann appeared in this special. I saw a few spoilers online but I avoided the one saying The 8th Doctor would make an appearance. I was jumping on the couch out of excitement! I’ll never forget that moment.

The conversations between Tegan, Ace, and their Doctors really closed some old wounds for us Classic fans that grew up watching those eras. When Seven talks about Ace being his "child" in a way, I am reminded of those days when she was just an 18yr old orphan who found a family in our Doctor. To see her grown and having flown the nest as all children should, it brought a lump in my throat to see them, father and daughter, talking together again.

I love the moment when they acknowledge Adric's death. Getting sent the "toy" cyberman was more than just a cruel joke for Teagan. It was a trigger of a very traumatic memory. The fact that she thought the Doctor was purposely or thoughtlessly triggering her really explains why she was so mad at them the whole time. I'm glad they were able to make peace. It also makes me wonder if Adric was on the Doctor's mind whenever they encountered the Cybermen from that point on.

it's the "brave heart" that gets me EVERY. TIME.

That scene with the companions and their storys was really good. Seeing Ian and everyone else there was a nice way to say how long Doctor Who has been around and a note to the BBC's 100th.

It's crazy how so many years later, Peter still feels like the real thing!

I love the detail that with Tegan and the the doctor interface, when she got more emotional, he became more real, and less hologram-y
Edit: I just noticed a similar effect happened with Ace and the interface

Jodie’s Doctor meeting Tegan and Ace was one of the highlights for me!

A true out of body experience for a fan who loves Classic Who!

Can’t forget about Sacha’s Master briefly interacting with Tegan and Ace! I was so happy with both scenes!!!

And of course, Ian made his long awaited return which made me sob!

The Power Of The Doctor was genuinely one of the most impactful episodes for me as a viewer ❤

I loved that chat with Seven and Ace we finally got closure on what happened between season 26 and the TV Movie.

When 13 is in her mind and sees 1, 5, 6, 7, and 8. My only change I would have wanted is Capaldi coming back as 12 and like 8 instead of being in the formal robes he is in his hoodie and faded shirt playing his guitar while wearing his sonic sunglasses. But I know Peter has sadly said he doesn't want to come back to Doctor Who as much as I want him to return

It was these moments that made 'The Power of the Doctor' for me. Seeing my favourite Doctor/companion pairing onscreen again got me all choked up.

I love it when they bring back companions and they should do that for the new doctor
