Good that Kate Stewart didn't laugh at the Doctor after seeing the Time Lord who worked for her father at UNIT in female form after she had seen 4 of the Doctor's previous incarnations.

We've taken a ride to infinity and beyond with the power of the doctor and then treated to a reunion of the doctor's oldest companion's daughter a multiple chances of meeting Kate Swart this was thrilling to see a special meeting of course they meant to see each other it is luck of of chances or something else Destiny has come a calling for Kate it's in her blood a heroic bloodline and possibly something more from Gallifrey where her late father headed after his sacrifice as a Cyberman his memories are part of their Matrix and possibly the doctors to. Friendship and Destiny are the same in the doctor's faith in those he has befriended and forever linked in the personal Matrix of the doctor's many companions
Kate is one companion of the doctor who will always trust, of course, it doesn't mean Kate is without an edge of mystery herself or does something questionable and what her heroic father would have done to. After all she follows her orders and the orders of the government of Britain. Might say Kate keeps it in check and sees threats as the only way to deal with them, and possibly seeking an alternative way if necessary. In fact, she is more brilliant than her father ever was.
