I'm really grateful for you mentioning "Six Ways"! Every time it gets any sort of publicity or praise, I'm happy.
I've struggled with other "magic 101" types of books (particularly "Psychic Witch"), but "Six Ways" was absolutely what I needed. Being autistic, I have this strange mix of demand avoidance and executive dysfunction which means that I need clear instructions, but I also *hate* being told what to do! Hierarchies and dogmas aren't my thing, but I also won't know how to do something without a clear step-by-step guide. Miraculously, Wachter managed to hit the golden middle; he's non-hierarchical, non-dogmatic, genuinely kind and accommodating, while being clear, explicit and methodical in his writing and instructions. At the end of the book, I felt empowered and eager to get on with it!

Josephine McCarthy's book, "Magical Knowledge, Foundations, Book 1" is an excellent overview to start for lone practitioners. I have half of the books on your list, thank you for an excellent video. Peace and Blessings from Texas USA!

Good list. I have almost all of them. Chicken Qabalah is great 😆. Modern Magick was my first book 20 years ago.

For a slightly less sterile and more flavorful take on the chaos tradition, I can recommend Prime Chaos by Phil Hine. I found it to be a very easy and rewarding read.

Franz Bardon "Initiation into Hermetics". Full disclaimer: I'm only on the first few steps 2 years going now but if you can master control of thoughts (awareness), understanding yourself (introspection), and live healthy (certain daily routines) you are already of an elite group. How close to master I personally am is up for debate but I like the system froma practical standpoint.

I have the feeling that, the more I tune into this channel, the more books I'm going to end up accumulating before I've even got a place to stash them all. All the more reason to work some magick for a proper home in which to store my little growing collection of occult and esoteric books.

I’d say Liber ABA is also a book that can take you from zero to sixty and it’s as indispensable a resource as the golden dawn.
