It would be good if the Russian demands are discussed through the OSCE to which organization both Russia and Europe are signatories.
It is my personal conviction that peace in Europe is a European issue and the US through NATO should not be involved. European nations are perfectly capable to cater for their own security arrangements. Nato therefore should be replaced. This would strongly simplify and solidify European security including Russia not to mention the enormous financial savings resulting from abandoning NATO.
