Hosted by Glucksman Ireland House Faculty Fellow, Dr. Peter Hession, this roundtable discussion will explore the meanings, opportunities, and challenges of differently situated global "turns" for Irish history and shed new light on the ongoing evolution of Irish historiography in a wider context. The roundtable will feature contributions from Dr. Aoife O’Leary McNeice on transnational approaches to hunger and humanitarianism, Professor Kenneth Shonk on Irish diplomacy and the Global South, Dr. José Brownrigg Gleeson on the global history of revolution in Ireland and South America, Dr. Kerron Ó Luain on what internationalist perspectives bring to Irish language history, and Dr. Sophie Cooper on new Irish diaspora histories.
