You, Yes You! Can Paint is EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you! So excited for this segment!

When I have done 10x10 challenges before, I didn’t preselect which games would be on it. My goal was just that by the end of the year there would be 10 games that I played 10 times. This allowed for new games to make it into the list sometimes even late in the year.

I was so pleasantly surprised at how good The Mandolorian is. The show captures the feel of the original trilogy and balances action, drama and character so well--and the main character has to make us care about him even though we never see his face! Great stuff.

Wow - I'm actually really excited for the paint segment... This is something I've always wondered if I'd ever get in to. I'm about to join some gaming groups when I move here in a few months, and I'd love to play some miniature games with painted components.

I've been wanting to paint for a while, but scared to and I just started getting a lot of games with miniatures. Keep all the good tips coming Bryan!

LOVE the new painting segment! Can't wait to see more.
@WeGameTogether: this is gonna be fun. I had a plan to do a culling by playing each game in my collection with my wife to see if we want to keep it from when the boys get older. One tiny hiccup is that juuuust haven't made the time to do it yet so I'm hoping y'all's segment will remotivate our desire to clean out the boardgame bloat.

Thanks everyone. Ryan, I am really looking forward to your new segment. Maybe it will help me finally get Battlelore to the painting table. Thanks again everyone.

Bryan... perfect timing with the painting segment as I was just looking into getting into this! Thanks for specifying the specific products you are using as well.

'WeGameTogether' I am really excited for your purging series. Two great games you got rid off and hopefully they can hook their new owners into the hobby.

The Painting Segment is awesome! I really want to start painting my minis, but I am afraid that they will look aweful 😅 I hope you will do a lot of those painting episodes! For me it is the best segment by far 😊

The white wide-brimmed hat is the best hat so far. I got pretty far into a 10x10 last year, but my goals weren’t to play 10x10 necessarily, but to better understand games, how to teach games, and to understand what makes a game get to the table more easily. There were a few games in the 10x10 that I found extremely easy to get to 10, and others didn’t feel like they needed that many plays, so I stopped playing them. Using a 10x10 as a way of getting into figuring out what you like or dislike about games was a good idea for me, and maybe others will find that out, too.

@dicetowerbryan Thanks for the new painting segment! That highlighting tip is great! 🙂

I am a hybrid of wanting to really learn a game in depth (e.g. Scythe, War of the Ring), but love learning new games so much (e.g. every gosh darn game out there).

Bryan should have mentioned that one needs to take precautions when spray painting miniatures. "Rattle cans" produce A LOT of fumes and paint overspray, which can be hazardous to one's health when inhaled. Be sure to wear a dust mask or respirator when using them, and only spray in a paint booth or areas with plenty of ventilation (outdoors if at all possible). It's wise to protect one's hands with vinyl/latex gloves too.

Jenn, I recently finished the Red Rising trilogy and am now reading The Invisible Library, another of your suggestions. Artemis sounds like another book that I'll enjoy, so I've placed it on hold at my local library. Thanks for the suggestions.

@We Game Together - We have all our kids games together, so the kiddos know where to find their games without disrupting the delicate balance of everything else. Then we just have everything else by size to fit on our shelves which are also in need of a purging. We try to keep all the Felds together, all the Queen games together, etc. But really it’s just a giant game of Tetris. Haha
