I've been doing this ever since I had kids. It was the only time I could get "me" time. Now they're grown and I'm still doing it. Plus, I am definitely a night owl. I'm trying to make an effort to get more sleep though!

I have plenty of "me time" and I still do this. I think it's because I don't want to get up in the morning and the sooner I go to bed, the sooner I have to wake up.

This is because the typical 9-5 m-f work obligation just to survive is unfair and draining and exhausting! We spend our whole lives working! There isn’t enough time to enjoy much else! 2 day weekends is cruel! Whoever came up with it is a jerk!

Who's watching this past their bedtime?🙋

This is so me! Every single night, even though I plan to go to bed at a decent hour (11-12:00), I always finally get to sleep at around 2:00am. The worst (best!) thing I do is read in bed and, when it's a really good book, I have even been known to stay up past 3:00am. This does not make for a good morning!

This is a big problem for me, when I get back from school I don't even want to look at my homework anymore and end up spending the rest of the day not doing it, but when it's time to go to sleep that's when I feel like doing it. This is making lose sleep and feel like garbage in the mornings.

I've been going through this for a few months now, and I can't tell you what it's cost me, both personally and professionally. Every morning I promise myself that this will be the last day that I deprive myself of sleep and that I will go to bed early tonight, but when the night comes, I fail again. This has greatly damaged my self-confidence and I feel useless and unsuccessful, but now I have learned that there is a name for it. So I hope there are some techniques to overcome it. I hope I will succeed, because it is eating me up.

Me right now. And all the time. Even when I didn’t have a busy day, it takes so much effort and intention to go to bed at a reasonable time

You did nit tell me how to do it. I all-ready know the impacts of revenge bedtime procrastination even in the moment, asking myself of them won’t help.

The thing is I don't want to make it stop, even though I know it's damaging my health. I work from 9-5, and most times I do overtime for 2-3 hours more. Sometimes, I can't even do weekends off since I not only work but also take care of kids at home plus other house chores. The night is the only time I have for myself.

This is me, literally - that’s me, but this video hit HOME.

It’s the only time during the day when I’m not expected to do anything but sleep. Nobody is awake to tell me to do anything or to expect me to be doing anything.

Yep, this is me. I have plenty of time during the day but I am not using it wisely. I am taking revenge on me! I not only procrastinate with going to bed but I have been procrastinating cleaning out the garage, getting a rental condo ready to sell (it has been empty now without income for 2 years) and procrastinating even going through the little piles of unresolved papers lying around the house or in the plastic bags where I have shoved them out of sight. I guess as the list grows so does the time I finally go to bed after playing around on my computer for hours "shopping" for the oddest items. The only way to stop this is to maybe make a list and just start ticking off the "to dos" one at a time and not let the entire lot overwhelm me. I will try to do that and then first start to get to bed at a better time (I still only ever stay asleep for about 6 hours) then maybe check back in on this video to report how things are going. Best of luck to those of you who are in the same boat "for now." Nighty night.zzz
