how does the fill tool in blender 4.3 work? Thank you

Mine only fills with black even after changing color

This does not work at all, the fill tool does nothing, I have to say that grease pencil IS SUPER confusing to use, it has different places to set colors, either in the materials or on top in draw mode, sometimes fill does not work at all (when selecting it with stroke and fill or on the right side), then you can be in 2D Animation tab or in draw mode, editor mode. I know blender, but every time I use grease pencil I can't get shapes to have the color that I want and fill them automatically when drawing does not work, very frustrating. Is there a tutorial that shows how to SET COLORS so they work properly in grease pencil?
