I don't have personal desires or motivations, but I can provide information about why individuals may choose to join the US Army and what they hope to gain. People join the US Army for various reasons, including a desire to serve their country, patriotism, a sense of duty, career opportunities, lifelong benefits, educational opportunities, and personal development. Joining the Army can provide individuals with valuable skills, discipline, leadership experience, and a strong sense of camaraderie. Additionally, it can open doors to different career paths within the military or in civilian life. It's important to note that everyone's reasons for joining may differ, and ultimately, it is a personal decision based on individual goals and aspirations.

1997, My recruiter said, when you get on base, they have c130s that go to Hawaii on the weekends and you can get a free ride lol I totally fell for it. He did take me to get my GED so there is that. I am glad that he recruited me nonetheless. I learned a lot in basic and Ait. Got in the best shape of my life also.

If I may add respectfully. You are the front face of the Army. The military by verbage and word always stresses HONESTY, TRUTH & HONOR. Integrity!
Unfortunately, how many times have I heard, " the recruiter lied". Now this was in the 70s & 80s. I am hopeing that this has been stopped. You can't teach if your not what you preach.

I was active army, 11B M.O.S., served in 2-28 Black Lions in Pakita Afghanistan from 2011-2012.
Any young people reading this, DO NOT enlist, and dodge the draft. You are not fighting for your country, our government is corrupt and wars are for some career politicians bank account rather than "freedom"

Wow good luck kids. Think long and hard before you sign up. It is a life threatening decision. Talk to other veterans before you join older guys and women that are out of the military. It’s no joke.

Ask a soldier about the Army. Ask a soldier that isn't a recruiter

TBH.... My parent pov might be Unpopular....imo military recruiters should be restricted to minors in schools Kids usually do not understand the ramification of a military commitment I believe it's an independent adult's responsibility to explain to a child what's being presented and expected I want our country's military Strong but I want that process planned and 100% informed by parents or guardians

How do you sell an organization that for the last 80 years has only been getting progressively softer the closer the time comes that they will need to be strong.

Maybe if I had joined up when I was in my early 20s back in 2007 I wouldn't have gone into drug addiction and completely ruin the trajectory of my life. I'm 38 years old now and I still look back in regret to all the what ifs if only I had the courage to enlist back then. 😔
