As you know the Laparoscopic Surgery is done in such a manner that I don’t create a big wpnd on the abdominal wall. But you should know the amount of dissection, the amount of issue mobilization, the amount of cut I make inside the abdomen is the same, whether I do open surgery. So if I do Laparoscopic Surgery. So the is wound inside the abdomen, the only thing is the wall wound is small. So the wound healing inside the abdomen takes the me time in open surgery and Laparoscopic Surgery. But minimum tissue handling is there. This is the reason it heals fast and it heals better with lesser complications. So the inside wound healing. So the wound healing takes about 8 to 10 days . So the soreness you feel side the abdomen, I will take few days to become completely normal, your bowel movements to be normal, and distension to be normal, even in open surgery it is same the abdominal wound is very tiny. For example if you take hernia surgery, the ports are very tiny. So very tiny movement of instruments only the camera port is a little big, say about 10 mm. So we make one stitch side. So port Site Hernia are also known. So port Site infections are also known. So this is the reasons why care is needed for 5 to 10 days and secondly for upto 1 month I will suggest you to bend too much, not to lift weights because we don’t want to weaken the wound but you can do all your normal activities yourself. You don’t need to support yourself. Say for open surgery for first 5 days you need somebody to support yourself because the abdominal cut is so big and you need somebody to support you and take you round and help you. So in Laparoscopic Surgery that doesn’t happen.
