Life after Hysterectomy

preview_player
Показать описание
The total recovery time after Hysterectomy depends on the type of procedure performed. The recovery period for the Robotic, Vaginal and Laparoscopic hysterectomy is 4 to 6 weeks and for Abdominal hysterectomy, it is 6 to 8 weeks.

After surgery, start with short walks and gradually increase the distance.

Within 4 to 8 weeks after surgery, you may return to work if your job does not involve manual work or heavy lifting.

Do not drive until you're comfortable wearing a seatbelt. This can be anything from 3 to 8 weeks.

Sexual intercourse: It is generally allowed 6 to 8 weeks post-surgery.

Lifting: Don't lift any heavy objects during your recovery period. To lift light objects, make sure your knees are bent and your back is straight.

I had a hysterectomy yesterday and I’m already in less pain than I was before! I’m glad to read all these stories from people in the comments

Best choice in my health 😊
Had a rare, severe case of endometriosis with tumors 😢
Caused me extra monthly bleeding and severe menstrual pain😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Missed a lot of school and work days 😞
FINALLY found a doctor to treat me and free me from all those years of pain and suffering 😁
Had the procedure done 25 years ago ❤
Pain free, bounced right back after the surgery 😇
Enjoying life as God would have me to 💗

The best decision I've ever made. I had major pain every month and I didn't want children. Win Win.

I had my surgery almost 2 weeks ago.
No overnight stay.
No bleeding at any point.
Pain is less than my adnomyosis symptoms were.
I made the right decision for me.

I had a hysterectomy a couple days ago, my uterus was 12 times the normal size, so the pain I felt was almost unbearable… I’m much better now

Just had mine removed on Tuesday. I had to have it removed due to a big fibroid tumor that was causing all my heavy bleeding and pain. Best decision ever. But keep on top of your stool softeners and water intake before and after, along with Miralax. It'll hurt a bit with coughing, sneezing, laughing, farting, burping, etc.

I'm 25 right now and planning to undergo this kind of surgery since I don't have any plans in getting children. Plus I'm having a hard time when I'am on my period. Glad I saw this.

I had one too. And afterwards I didn't have no pain. And no more time of the months. That's what I had liked about it.

I have a hysterectomy in 2008 and so far have had no issues other than weight gain and the occasional hot flash! But I don't miss my periods at allt! Just because it worked for me it doesn't mean that it will work for someone else! No two person are the same

After operation please take care of your gut health. Constipation and piles like situation may arise because of heavy medication in many, who have gone ahead with this operation

It says 4-8 wks return to work if you don’t do manual or heavy lifting. What if your job DOES include heavy lifting??
