As a kid, there was a field to the north of the block I lived on. Full of butterflies, moths, grasshoppers, crickets, spiders etc. the following spring I couldn’t wait to go there. They tore it out to put in a city block of duplexes. I knew then how fast the earth was dying. I was 5 years old. Now I’m 68. What a disgusting cesspool most of humanity now lives in.

This presentation is first rate, best collection of informed reality I have ever encountered. It is so refreshing to finally hear someone remark that "Life is not all about humanity" as I have been pointing out most of my adult life. PLEASE keep making these videos. This is nourishment for my soul.

We (industrial civilization) are terminally ill and need palliative care. We can't fool ourselves into thinking that there's a cure that will ever come. Acknowledging this fact allows me to actually grieve and process what's unfolding. I find that the false techno-futurism causes me undue anxiety because I generally understand the diagnosis, so by pretending that everything will be okay, I have to engage in cognitive dissonance to hold the diametrically opposed ideas in mind simultaneously. It's maddening--literally crazy making.
