The Cheshire Cat makes more sense now than ever, he’s basically saying, ‘Yeah, the world is insane, but you’re the crazy one for expecting it to make sense.’ Honestly, with everything going on today, maybe he’s the only one who has it figured out.

My 40 year old daughter passed away less than a year ago. She loved this story for exactly what you've done. It felt like a gift. Thank you.

As a child you believe Wonderland is a fairy tale, as an adult you realize we all live in Wonderland

My favourite 'line' is when Alice asks Cat which fork in the road she should take, Cat points out that it depends on where she wants to go, but Alice doesn't know where she wants to go, so Cat replies, "then it doesn't much matter which path you take." Such a wonderful metaphor. As a psycho-therapist, I love Alice in Wonderland, ...so many moments of introspection and growth.

"How long is forever?" asked Alice. "Sometimes, just one second." replied the White Rabbit. ~ This is now my favorite line of all time

I had a crazy experience with a white rabbit about 3 years ago. It was so bizarre. A friend and I went to a pub in Austria... as we drove, there was a small white rabbit on the road... we thought it w as odd for him to be in the middle of the road in the city, we decided to stop and try and catch him to release somewhere in the forrest. He got away. Then we kept on driving, and a few blocks later, there he was on the road again... again we tried to catch him, to no avail. As soon as we got to the pub, there were 100s of posters on the walls of the bathroom, and on the door in my toilet, an Alice in Wonderland since then, I have accidentally fallen into so many rabbit holes and underwent a awakening with insane syncronicities and experiences...

I see a little bit of every character in myself. My favorite line was " The clock never moves because when you're mad, time stops making sense altogether."
I very much enjoyed this video. Thank you.

Fear, control and identity. Who do you become when the world around you makes no sense??? It is correct- you get that when you go through cancer. I had these same feelings of fear (I thought I would die), control (going back and forth for chemo, radiation, chemo, more surgeries- I felt out of control and not in control of my body at all), and identity (I felt I had lost who I was and the essence of who I was). As you go through cancer, you do go through a "Wonderland". I even wrote a poem about it to get my feelings out. It was published in a cancer magazine, and that writing (the rabbit whole- my passage from the ordinary to the extraordinary) helped me get it out!!! I was afraid of "time" also. I didn't think I would have enough time to see my grandson graduate from high school. I did. But, now I am afraid I won't have enough time to see him graduate from college.
In Wonderland it is never about where you are going- it's about who you become while getting there. That caterpillar said, "Who are you?" as I was forced to answer. My identity was slippery because the cancer did not make me feel like me. Life forced me to change. Cancer forced me to change. Today, I still have good days and bad days. Cancer transforms you wether you are ready or not. THANK YOU MYSTIK MANOR- I LOVED YOUR VIDEO. THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME WITH MY 'NAVIGATION'.

The character of the Queen of hearts is easier to understand when you realize that England was going through a period of protests over the death penalty when Alice in Wonderland was written. Most Victorians still agreed with the death penalty but many of them were starting to protest the majority of reasons for being sentenced to death - crimes that today would be considered mere misdemeanors such as shoplifting or not crimes at all such as ‘mumming’ (disguising oneself and performing in a sort of whimsical play as a street performer. Today the tradition continues on and traditional mummers are often accused of racism because they blacken their faces as a nod to when t black face paint was used to hide the identity of the mummers from the authorities. During the day mummers were normal English subjects but by night they were satirists who mocked the Nobel and royal classes and showed them that they didn’t have the control over the commoners that they thought they did). Additionally to this executions were public and many of them were children as young as 12. During this time reformists in England saw capital punishment not as a way of ridding society of psychopathic murderers but as the English governments desperate attempt to scare the English populace into virtue through fear. Victorians were starting to view the fact that one could be executed for completely benign reasons as nothing but their government throwing a temper tantrum. Hence the red queen losing her cool and ordering beheadings at a constant rate.

In the late / early AM hours while driving home circa 200(?) J.Airplane’s “white rabbit” played on the radio. My buddy hit the breaks as a white rabbit lazily hops across the empty downtown street before us. We noticed it right as Grace Slick belts out “when you go chasing rabbits…”. It blew stoned teenage my mind to bits.

For context, the book was written during the height of the industrial revolution when change was being forced on people at a rate never witnessed before. This was the first generation to live under the tyranny of the clock as previously people had worked according to the seasons, the weather and tradition. Now, large scale industries demanded people to work to strict schedules and to picture their lives in hours, minutes and seconds, an unnatural way to live which made the dread of inevitable death seem worse.

My mother loved Alice in Wonderland. She had a fat hardcover bound edition with gorgeous reproductions of Sir John Tenniel's famous illustrations.

As I grew up, I gradually realized that my mother was actually a covert Narcissist, and, as they say, mad as a hatter herself. The Alice story yielded greater and greater levels of understanding as my mother's craziness grew deeper and deeper. There was also resonance with the great Wizard of Oz. She used family members like they were flying monkeys.
She passed away a year ago at 94. I miss her and praise her absence at the same time!

In Victorian England, flamingos were often associated with elegance, exoticism, and status.Their vibrant pink feathers and graceful appearance made them popular symbols in art and decor, representing beauty and sophistication. Flamingos were also seen as a sign of wealth and luxury, as they were imported from distant lands and displayed in gardens and aviaries by the affluent.
In contrast:
In Victorian England, hedgehogs were often associated with protection, wisdom, and good luck. Their spiny armor symbolized defense and survival, making them seen as guardians against threats. Hedgehogs were also thought to represent community and support, as they were believed to live in groups and help each other
