The toughest challenge for beginners would be to stay sane, not to let emotions take over your investing decisions

Thanks for the timely video Brandon! I’m sure you’ve touched on it already, but I would say a beginner’s mistake during this volatile time would be to try and dabble in a form of short-term day trading, aka trying to predict market swings up or down, day by day, based on current events, financial news, medical news, or political news. I keep remembering a Buffett quote about not buying a stock for even 10 minutes if you’re not comfortable holding it for 10 years. Thanks and stay well!

Good point with #2 - people get conservative during a crashing or down market. Buy high, sell low does not work during high levels of FEAR. A contrarian approach is needed in my opinion.

I think the biggest mistake I am seeing myself make is timing my purchases. I'll look at prices at night or in the morning and set limit buys at slightly cheaper than the closing price of a stock or ETF or say "I'll buy it later today when the end of day sell offs seem to happen." Then I end up missing out completely on good gains because the limit buy never sets off. I think I am too conservative in deploying my money in to the market.
