If you can't roll your "R" don't sweat it. Germans understand that most Americans can't roll their R's. They still understand what you're saying. The main thing I am corrected on by Germans are the Articles (der, die, das, den). For example: I keep forgetting to say "das Meer" instead I say "die Meer". and when I say "die Meer" I am immediately corrected. I have never been corrected for not rolling my R's.

Don't most English speakers pronounce *every language* like it's English?

Tbh I am a native German speaker and in my opinion, there's no difference between sh and sch

No one in German or Austria will say "Bagel" the way it's showed here ^^

You are over-enunciating the endings of words like "Kuchen", "machen", etc. that end in "en". It's very unnatural to pronounce the "en" like you do. Usually the "e" is elided.

Source: I am a native speaker who learned standard German pronunciation as a child.

2:05 One other horribly wrong thing no one is pointing out is *Dativ means Indirect, Akkusativ means Direct Object.* Not the other way around. (Some languages use Dative as the direct object but that's rare, dunno if that's the case for German)
*DO YOU NOT REVIEW YOUR VIDEO BEFORE UPLOADING?* Damn it.

I'm first generation Mexican-American so my first language was Spanish. When I began to learn German. I noticed that a lot of pronunciations were similar to Spanish, so that made it easier.

In the video dativ and akkusativ are wrongly labelled as direct and indirect. It should be Dative - indirect and Akkusativ- direct. The examples are correct.

Timing: 1:44 - many speakers of English just have problem remembering all those endings of Cases -em -en rather than they intentionally mispronouncing or "enunciating".

I think this webside makes learning German harder than it is. most of the German-speaking people don't roll the R..

It's funny, how I as a german am not able to pronounce the "r" correctly xD i always roll it with the front of my tongue and don't use my throat. (I think it's kinda painful...)
And don't ask me why I am watching this video although I already speak german.

3:32 Shareware? NO! It's pronounced just like in English, it's an English word. That's why you're s+h rule is questionable, this combination only exist in borrowed words.

Rule two is nonsense. Pronouncing those endings will make you sound less German actually, natives would just shorten them to mei'm and 'nen

Bagel?

Shareware?

Both not German words. Both never pronounced German in Germany. Come on, how can you add so silly mistakes to such a GREAT video?!
