I upgraded to this from rebel 400d and absolutely love it. Depends what you're used to and how often you upgrade. Love it how it works with my iphone and I can share my photos nearly instantly, downloads to computer were a pain. Definitely an upgrade for me.

Instead of magnesium alloy, the Mark IV has a composite shell over the GPS aerial (or there would be no reception). This is the area where your scratch happened. The rest of the camera body is probably just as resilient as the Mk III.

Thank you for the seemingly unbiased review. I shoot with a 5D Mark III as well, have rented the Mark IV, and based on the competition I feel the need to wait for a more dramatic upgrade if I am to stick with Canon.

exact the reason why i bought another 5d3 (2 5d3s for the price of 1 5d4). Having two cameras is so much more useful and flexible with event and wedding shoots than just one 5d4.

Everyone entitled to there opinion, but 5 years later, it is still one of the most popular cameras, called a workhorse and a tank for how tough it is. Those are the things its revered for, maybe you have an updated video on it, not sure, but i think all can agree its not the best camera for 4k.

Great honest review, the 5DM4 is a great stills camera in the Canon tradition and a sizable improvement over the 5DM3. Video disappoints on several fronts: crop, codec, and most significantly HDMI output. Hopefully Canon can address some of the issues with firmware upgrades.

you would think canon would do better upgrades on both the 7d and 5d-4! like newer image censer's, instead of playing around with menus on these cameras!i don't think it improves the camera as a hole, thank you vary good video though.

I still haven't upgraded... It'll be next year when I do. I wonder if the rumors are true about the 5DSR Mark II coming next year. I'd really like to have the 5DSR with the 5D Mark IV features and a new sensor.
