In this video, Ben Finkel covers Oracle Supplied User Accounts. User accounts are a core element of Oracle's security for database administration. But every administrative action requires some user account, so you have to start off somewhere. See how prebuilt accounts help you do that.

Being a database administrator is a big job that contains a lot of responsibilities. A database administrator has to know some coding, in order to write some basic SQL when the need arises. They also need to know some systems administration fundamentals so that they can deploy server software as well as administrate software around the environment.

But administering database security might be one of the most fundamental, essential tasks of a database administrator.

Everything in Oracle requires an identity — a user account — in order for it to work. Every table, object, query, and view has to have an identity that creates it, and another that attempts to access it.

Since that means literally everything, Oracle provides some pre-built user accounts. See how System, Sys, SysDG, SYSKM, and SysBackup can be used to further your database administration journey.

isn't CBT that marijuana oil? The video description says .ora files but I didn't see any .ora files. Which users to use when first starting up is good info but man connecting to an oracle database is like a whole other level compared to connecting to sqlite or h2. There are so many files in this wallet file. This ssl stuff isn't working. I don't know whether to choose sudden infant death syndrome (SID?) or service name. I sure wish I could find a video that describes like some of this information...
