Think some of it has to do with exhaustion, mean Optimus was fighting 3 cons at once. One that was 50ft tall and all of a sudden megatrons back!

I like think that prime was on an adrenaline spike and after getting kicked in the head his hearing might’ve been damaged as well but I think he was bloodlusted and caught up in the moment trying to find Sam

Dude when I was watching this video in the beginning I was like, maybe he didn't sense anything because he got his face beaten up, ready for some theory that made no sense, then all of a sudden I was like oh, it wasn't dumb, it was just obvious.
