Here's an interesting Frozen 2 theory: some folks believe that Elsa might actually be... well, not alive in the end. You see, she freezes, and sadly, Olaf vanishes too. Anna, being the trooper she is, does what needs to be done. She takes down the dam, saves the forest, and lo and behold, in comes Elsa. But she's different, right? In a chat with Anna, she sort of lets Anna piece it together - she's the 5th spirit. Kristoff even notices the change and goes, "Did you do something to your hair?" And Elsa, with a sly smirk, replies, "Or something." It's like she's hinting at the whole 'spirit of the forest' deal, implying that she's transitioned into something beyond. Now, about Anna becoming queen - sure, it's for Arendelle's good, but it's also because Elsa's now got this deep connection to the forest as the 5th spirit, so she can't be queen anymore. Now, you'd think Elsa would be front and center at Anna's coronation, but she couldn't step away from the forest. They had to rely on butterfly messengers to keep in touch. If elsa died, so did Anna in part 1. She was frozen and her last breath left her. So both girls may be immortal...

That's one part that really bugged me about Elsa not being at Anna's coronation unlike the opposite of few years earlier. And I still don't know or like the fact that Elsa is not the queen anymore and living in the forest it's almost like they banned her to live in the forest. It's been months since I wrote this previous comment and I would like to change it now because now I realize they never showed Anna's coronation that's why Elsa wasn't shown attending. I cannot believe I've got like 14, 000 people that have made comments regarding my comment but I stand by what I originally said and it's a shame that Elsa could not have remained Queen instead of putting ditzy anna, the little troublemaker as queen

The main flaw with that theory is that anna was the 1st one that was frozen due to elsa in the 1st movie

1. Anna was frozen first and came back to life in the first movie. 2. If Elsa died she wouldn’t have been able to bring back Olaf as “alive”. 3. Both Anna and Elsa are the “fifth spirit” when Anna says “you’re the bridge between the two worlds” Elsa replies “a bridge has two sides and mother had two daughters.” I only know all of this because my two year old is on a frozen phase and now my YouTube page is also full of frozen 😂😂😂😂

I definitely feel like Elsa has changed, but I don’t think that she necessarily is dead or gone. I think that she has just spiritually ascended enough to where she can live longer and she’s just a bit higher minded than everybody else.

It was said in the movie that both the sisters are the fifth spirit. The fifth spirit is the bridge to the spirits and the people of Arendale. It was said in the movie the bridge had two sides, their mother had two children. They're both the bridge.

Well... In the movie we see that, Else found out the truth(the right thing to do) and after that, Anna did the next part(the next right thing). So, both of them did a part in saving everyone, including freeing the forest and the Northuldran people from the mist. Both of them are the halves of the bridge between the Northuldran(the people living with magic)
and the Arendellians(people living without magic)/between the magical realm and the human realm(as Elsa has magical powers).

Interesting theory, but if you remember in the beginning of the second movie, Anna and elsa's mother, sings them a song about Attaholen and in the song, you hear a warning "dive down deep into her sound, but not too far or you'll be drowned." The reason Elsa froze is because she dove too deep in Attaholen and Olaf slowly starts disappearing because since Elsa is Frozen the magic in Olaf is fading away.
Elsa is unfrozen once Anna destroys the dam and elsa revived Olaf since she had her magic. When Kristof says she looks different. I mean, of course she does. She has a whole new dress her hair is not in a braid anymore.
I still believe that she is alive. Once she's unfrozen, I'm not sure about her dying in a way. But still I mean that is an interesting theory.

This is a very flawed theory that would make children cry. Olaf lived, meaning that Elsa was alive at the end. Elsa's source of mental stability was Anna's love. That's about it.

But Anna invited her in the castle for the Tabu Game and we saw Elsa riding to Arendelle for it. So it’s at least not like she can’t “leave the place she died” like some ghosts do.
