Manatees are so curious and friendly. If you're in the water with manatees 9/10 they will come up to you and nudge on you. You aren't supposed to touch them of course but people do and they become accustomed to it

I know it sounds weird, but once a manatee gets big enough, like in this video, alligators will pretty much leave them be, and vice versa.
