I think a car detail is a great gift for someone who doesn't want "stuff" or is really practical. People pay to get their car washed but a detail is like a level up that people don't usually buy for themselves.

If you're really stuck for someone, I would suggest giving to a charity/cause you know they support in their name. You get to do something good for the world, you've shown you care about their interests, and also even if they don't like it for some reason, they can't complain without looking like an asshole! You can't really lose in this situation (unless the charity turns out to be shady but if you don't know when you donate you can't really be held responsible - do some research first just in case though)
