In 2019 during the Steam Grand Prix event, I got a badge out of it that gave me 12.200 XP, a really huge boost x)
I remember seeing some badges giving 40k or more XP in the past. Maybe Valve is getting more careful not to do this anymore, because in over 3 years, I didn't see a badge like that.

If we are lucky, and I mean VERY, VERY lucky. Steam once had a sale and gave players challenges to do in-game to earn XP. One of them is to drink a soda in a game called Starbound, and I drank ungodly amount of soda to get my level 20 account to 100+

What I meant was, Valve could leave a exploit in future sales and we could use it.

You forgot another incentive to level up, the chances of random weekly boosters. You can then sell them so it's basically free money.

Good way to get XP is also to get rewarded with steam points, as those give you 10xp per reward. You can also use those steam points you got rewarded to buy yourself seasonal steam badge which goes max to lvl 40.

This "tutorial" was very useful mostly but one importnant thing i would like to point out is that to get the community leader badge there a 2 tasks that you can only complete by crafting a badge using trading cards wich leads to using money. You can only get to level 3 for free when doing steam community tasks. I think this would have been extremly importnant for you to point out. These 2 tasks are, "Use a Steam Emoticon in chat" and "Craft a game badge"

I mostly switched to Steam after Sony jacked up their PS Plus prices and just it’s wild to me that achievements don’t give you xp. That’s one thing I prefer that PlayStation offers.

um yea keep in mind you cant get past lv 10 on steam untill you have spent $5 on the steam store. its one of the few restrictions on restricted account that havnt spent $ on steam. Spend $5 your account becomes un restricted besides for steam market the market now requiers you to have purchased something on steam within the past year.
