A really smooth animation scene from the Simpsons.

So I was watching the Simpsons season 1 on DVD & all I can say is WOW the Simpsons have changed a lot.
Though when I was watching the Pilot episode (Some Enchanted Evening), The animation was kinda more cartoony & choppy. but to make it more weird is they added this out of no where really smooth animation scene... & that's the only smooth animation scene they've added in this episode.

So I wonder, can anyone tell me the reason why this scene's animation was smooth but the rest was choppy?

The smoother animation really makes her more intimidating cause she feels so out of place, but I can safely say she is one of if not the scariest Simpson characters ever

I love how She's animated so smoothly and bart immediately crab walks after that

Bart is scared of her because everyone else has rough animation and she doesn't, so it's like she's an alien or something.

I love how intentionally “bad” his walk was, as the contrast between the two animations really adds to the visual comedy

That must be terrifying for Bart. Can you imagine how weird and spooky it would be if you met somebody who moved impossibly smoothly? This person would be considerably smoother than any other human in history! The fluidity of facial expressions alone would be enough to paralyze me.

She probably told the animators to animate her as smoothly as possible or she's gonna do something to them. And she doesn't know what that is because everyone has always done what she says.

Fun fact: the reason Bart put up such little fight is because he was intimidated by her incredibly smooth animation

This episode was meant to be the series premiere, but the producers were so dissatisfied with the "rubbery" animation that they had to have the animations re-done, or they would cancel the show. So the "first" episode of the Simpsons ended up being the Christmas special, and this episode instead aired as the season 1 finale, although in syndication it is aired as the first episode.

So the Simpsons doesn't really have an official "first" episode.

The animator for this shot really wanted to flex their skills

I like how she has weirdly smooth animation and Bart proceeds to ruin it with his choppy animation

James Baxter was probably in town and they’re like “hey wanna do a bit of the Simpson’s” and he just said “Jaaames Baxter!”
