Very satisfying animation from a very normal slice-of-life anime

This is unironically one of my favorite scenes of the entire show. Just seeing him go step by step through his morning routine is so comforting in the middle of an otherwise high adrenaline anime. It's like hitting the save state in a Resident Evil game.

a subtle detail i think is so sweet is that denji's toast setup is a lot tidier, and aki gave him a cup of coffee for his breakfast. they're slowly making room for each other in their lives.

I love that even though Denji is a wild man, he's actually well-behaved and gets along quite well with Aki.

I love how Denji responds to finding out they're having curry for lunch, just a "sweet" and that's it. It's so low energy but such a human response

This is indeed, one of the slice-of-life animes of all time. From snowball fighting to birthday surprises, it got everything.

A slice of life anime with this kind of art style though would be really cool. Most of that kind of genre has very brightly colored, super cartoonish, exaggerated style, but if we got a slice of life with art similar to Chainsaw Man with it's more horror-esque appearance, semi realistic color and lighting, I think that'd be pretty sweet. Just a chill, kinda terrifying looking anime about the daily live of some weirdo and his two adopted teens.
