I have the rotisserie kit. Motor burned up quickly. Masterbuilt sent me a replacement quickly (awesome customer service!) Started having the same problem with the new one. Turns out the piece the rod slips into, in the neck flange, to allow the motor to turn it is too long. Ground it down. Now works like a champ! My family loves the Peruvian chickens.

I have a 1050 and the rotisserie after an hour running, would not spin. One thing I learned you have to tie the chicken up good. Two, keep the temp lower and cook longer. The first time I cranked it up to 325 and when it heated up it would not turn. Second time cooking I kept it at 250 and at the very end up the temp to crisp the skin. Worked like a charm and was delicious.

With the grate removed and not able to have a catch pan under, how do you avoif the huge mess on the burn chamber down below?

I've had a lot of issues with the rotisserie kit on my 800. Apparently, once it gets hot enough, it stops spinning because the metal expands. I saw a video on Youtube of a guy shaving down the shaft of the part that goes into the motor, but I haven't done that. I could not install the right side bracket without removing the shelf bracket, so I don't know how you did it. There was another Youtuber that had the same problem so he machined the bracket so they both could fit. And if you want to have a drip pan, it's so low in the grill that the chicken rubs against the drip pan!

Does anyone know how to get or improve the motor? It struggles to completely rotisserie a 7lb chicken if not properly centered. Struggled with the 13lb turkey BIG TIME during Thanksgiving. Want something that can turn a 20lb turkey with little effort.
